A couple of nights ago I picked up a bottle of Bookers bourbon. At $55 a bottle I wanted to see it was really that much better than the Jack 7 or Bulleit I have in my bar. After peeling off the wax seal and pulling the cork top, the smell about burned by nose. So I tasted it straight up to see what it was really like. Burned my mouth too and I thought damn, how strong is this shtein? The label solved the question, 128 proof.

So I realized i needed to dilute it properly (used the fancy shmancy Figi water and ice cubes) and it was terrific. The funny thing though, I got highly buzzed though I didn't think I drank that much. I almost never drink to the point of being flat out drunk, but somehow this snuck right up on me. I think maybe because it tastes so good and is very smooth.

Anyway, highly recommended. Although it's pricey, if you take the extra alcohol content into account, it still cost a lot.
