There was a late teen/early 20's kid sitting next to me with a black Vick jersey on. He kept asking me questions, I have no idea why. At one point he says "wanna see something cool?", I didn't give him an answer but he lifts the back of his jersey and he has a T-shirt that says McVick with the number 57 on it. Real clever.

Was he Indian by any chance?

My buddy has one of his cousins about that age that lives with him and sometimes when I drop by I talk with him about sports. One time I called Vick McVick and he thought it was so hilarious for some reason and said he was going to call him that from now on.

Might have been, he was short with a dark complexion. Looked more like he was caucasion with a tan.

* I think Jeremy Maclin is going to have a huge season. Coverage is going to roll to Pimp, who will beat whatever and whoever they send his way. Maclin and Celek will feast on the middle of the field.

Glad you didn't make any catch predictions (Avant 80 catches this season!)

Coleman, I think, is definitely going to make this team. From what I saw of him, all that stuff that's been coming up in camp showed up in the game. He had a couple of real good hits, seemed like he knew where to be and looked pretty good in coverage.

Special Teams looked atrocious, but as someone else already mentioned, there's a lot of guys out there who won't even be on the opening day roster, so it's not the real st unit out there.

Kolb looked pretty good, as did the 1st team offense.  Celek dropped a td though.

I like the fact that the first team defense had back to back 3 and outs to start the game while the first team offense had a couple of long drives to start things off.  Red Zone offense needs to improve though.  Can't settle for too many FG's once the season kicks off.

Here's what really jumps out at me though:

Jax had 0 rushing 1st downs, was 0-9 on 3rd down and 0-2 on 4th.  Granted, those aren't all the first team defense, but it's still pretty dominant.  Not to mention that the Eagles more than doubled Jax in TOP.  Turnovers are what allowed the Jags to stay in the game.

All in all, solid outing for the offensive and defensive starters and Vick looked like the old Vick.....made some really nice plays and turned the ball over a couple times.....just like when he was in Atl.

Vick looked like a completely different player than the one we saw last year. Still had that bone-headed fumble but looked fast and capable of making things happen.

It's also weird to think about, but this team looks like it has a lot of legit depth at WR. Washington and the white-boy both look like they can contribute and the top three are pretty clearly a capable group. That has to be a first in the Reid era. Meanwhile there's zero depth on the o-line which also is probably a first, and not exactly a positive, but whatever.
Is rjs gonna have to choke a bitch?

I blame Reid.

1.)  1st and 3rd quarter, take the delay of game penalty.  There is no excuse for wasting the timeout.  The fact a TO is taken instead of the delay of game penalty is a coaching call, not a player call.  I didn't see the game, so it may well have been Vick himself or another player who signaled for the TO, but he did so only because Reid/coaches instruct him to do so, rather than not to do so.

2.)  He should prepare his players better, and when they F up something like that, it's on him.  He needs to drill better in camp and practice, and if necessary change his cockamamie play calling system so that it doesn't take so goddamn long to get a play in to the QB.

Chad Hall looked damn good whether it was at WR/KR/PR/RB.  He's just an athlete, who has the right attitude that he'll do whatever he can to make this team.

Demps is done, he tore his vajajay or something early.  Quentin is not on his way

Pimp showed why he is the funnest thing to watch on this team and probably top 5 in the league with his end around.  Speaking of Pimp and Maclin, how nice is it to see Kolb thread the ball right to where it should be, and they can turn upfield in one motion.  Just seeing them in action after a camp is impressive.

Boo Robinson stood out on the Dline, PS material easily.  I never even saw trevor laws other than on the sideline.  Graham looked ok out there, didnt standout a lot imo.  Keenan Clayton really looked good, sure they were talking him up, but he did make some very good plays.

All in all its the pre season, but the 1st team d was pretty impressive for their first time out.  The Offense is going to be fun to watch, and ST's is gonna be a work in progress.  Thank god football is back

Just from watching Cooper at camp (nicknamed Sunshine after the QB in Remember the Titans, awful yet fitting name) and lastnight I see why they took him. They didn't have a need at WR but he's a steal and adds size at the position which is something they're lacking. He's locked in as the 4th WR. He's huge up close, looks more like a TE.

And you're spot on about Vick, next to pimp he was the most athletic player on the field. He'll do something to make you say damn then make a boneheade play. I think his play on the field probably mimics his personal life.

The one thing that stood out to me, at least that hasn't already been pointed out, was Stewie. It was nice to see a linebacker out there that actually looked like a linebacker instead of a chunky DB.

From what I could see at the game, it appeared as if Vick was confused about how much time should have been on the clock (40 vs 25 seconds).  Kolb didn't have any time issues, and neither did Kafka.

this may be just me but i get the feeling michael vick isnt a very smart person
Zero hour, Michael. It's the end of the line. I'm the firstborn. I'm sick of playing second fiddle. I'm always third in line for everything. I'm tired of finishing fourth. Being the fifth wheel. There are six things I'm mad about, and I'm taking over.
