If you do get in that room, make sure you make this face while standing there
I'm not from Philly but some say I'm blunt.

perhaps you could explain sd's reasons for "disliking" it as well since you seem to be so in tune with other peoples minds

So I cut my finger pretty bad slicing up a watermelon last night. Pretty sure it needs a stitch or two, but I really dont feel like going through the hassle of sitting in the ER, getting sewed up, then paying out the nose for it. Clearly we have no doctors here, but does anyone know if anything other than a scar/more healing time will occur by not seeing a doc?

charlie

Infection, which can get pretty dangerous.

Go to an ER, give a fake name and leave.

you can easily rip stitches out in about 2 weeks on your own.

It could get infected, but soaking it in hydrogen peroxide would probably stave that off. I recommend drinking a quarter to half (more if you have a decent tolerance) of Jack Daniels (can be substituted with Patron) and have a buddy sew it up for you. If you're friends are afraid, go to a tailor and threaten him if he hesitates to comply

That could actually work.  They can't refuse treatment, right?

If the cut is over a joint or you can see a tendon or can.t bend it properly, you need to go get it looked at by a doctor.  If not, be sure to clean it really well with peroxide or at the very least, scrub it with soap and water.  Get some super glue, and squeeze a little bit inside the length of the cut.  Hold the sides together until the glue dries enough to adhere on it's own.  You may need to splint it for a day or two to keep it from pulling open when you bend it.  Keep it clean and dry for about 24 hours, then make sure to keep it clean.  Look for signs of infection around the wound(redness, swelling, tenderness, warmth to the touch, pus-like discharge).  If that happens go to the hospital before you lose a finger.  Hope that helps.  -Shellback

rjs246

Clean it out and superglue that shtein shut.

Edit: Dammit SD beat me to it.
Is rjs gonna have to choke a bitch?

Let them eat bootstraps.

ive sliced up my hands twice where stitches were required and both times didnt get any...the first one bled for several days...all i did was peroxide and neo it constantly...the result is a scar

the other didnt bleed for as long but looked way worse...its in the area btwn my finger nail cuticle and the first knuckle...it doesnt ever really heal...the skin builds up...i bite or pick it off then it comes back and i repeat

it in general looks different from all my other cuticles....its also a little more sensitive

bottom line is in the end nothing serious came from either one and im glad i didnt go to the doctor
i can take a phrase thats rarely heard...flip it....now its a daily word
