Thinking any sort of televised entertainment is "great" is what's fairly laughable.

Pick up a book for God's sake, and not "Greatest Jewish Sports Heroes" either, MDS.

not that you can compare books and television but the wire is so much better than any book ever written its not even funny...and i dont watch tv but im sure there are numerous other shows that would rightly be considered "great"...and no seinfeld is not one of them

I'm conflicted, i like the ingenuity part of the last show like it, but i hate the groups attacking groups. Now if they were shooting eachother, and clubbing eachother with the bats they have then its great tv.

no saying any one single book is better than five seasons of the best tv show ever made (or even a great tv show) is so absurd i shouldnt even be addressing it

I'm into season 3 of the wire, and it doesn't compare to some of the best books I've read. Nothing on TV does. The wire is good, but it's no were close to the best I've seen on TV. I'd rate the Soprano's over it, BOB, Dexter, and the
Shield.

But who knows, maybe after watching more of it, I'd change those ratings.

Well, I'm still just on the first disk of season 3. I thought season 2 was a bit of a letdown after 1.

Nothing compares to great literature in the form of entertainment. Not movies, not art, not music and sure as farg not television.
