SPOILER

It was real the totem was spinning perfect and his ring was off. Movie over. IGY you pretty much didn't follow the movie, which is fine because it was a difficult movie to put all the pieces together. Def. a movie that will prob be better 2nd or 3rd time around for some folks. After the movie I pretty much said to my girl that a lot of people prob won't "get it" or they will just get so lost or confused they will lose interest in following it. You really don't understand whats going on the first half hour or hour and when you start understanding (yet still not fully getting it),  it turns into a tornado til the very end. I thought it was great and the fact the the end was real doesn't make it lame IGY, it was the whole goal of Leo's character. I think the ending was about as simple and good as you can get after the majority of the movie was so fast paced and chaotic.

yeah but the totum spins without falling in dreams, it falls in real life. and there's no right or wrong answer or else they wouldn't have cut away as it started wobbling.  but i'm with you in that i think he's back to reality at the end.

ice grillin you

you have to believe one of three things re the ending:

1. the ending was a dream because of what i  have said about the kids appearance

2. you have to believe that its reality and nolan decided to make the kids appear exactly how they appeared in dicaprios 5 million previous dreams and thus dicaprio could see the future thru his dreaming

3. you have to believe that its reality and nolan decided to make the kids appear exactly how they appeared in dicaprios 5 million previous dreams and thus nolan got lazy and made an awful ending

as for the answer

1. clearly the correct choice

2. possible i suppose but nowhere in the movie was seeing the future part of inception/dreaming/ect....and when hes telling the story of the day he left his kids thats what they look like....in other words youd just blindly be inventing this theory...#2 = incorrect

3. youd have to believe that nolan overlooked/completely missed/just didnt care about the ending to a movie he took ten years to write.....obviously he didnt

Zero hour, Michael. It's the end of the line. I'm the firstborn. I'm sick of playing second fiddle. I'm always third in line for everything. I'm tired of finishing fourth. Being the fifth wheel. There are six things I'm mad about, and I'm taking over.

saw Inception last night...really good.  i need to see it about 20 more times to totally understand it. he was definitely still dreaming at the end, not sure how that's a debate.
