I dunno, but its the greatest thing in the history of mankind. There are few things I hate more than flying but being able to access the intrawebs at my disposal from 35K feet in the air is the sweetness.

they have wi-fi but god forbid you absent-mindedly leave your cellphone on and receive a text in the air.

They put a wireless router on the planes.  Then they hook up the router to a modem via a really, really long cable.
