Anyone seen a good movie lately?

Just to be clear, anyone who went into a movie called Hot Tub Time Machine expecting anything more than a couple of laughs is an idiot.  What I liked most about the movie was that it knew it was a stupid movie, and didn't pretend to be anything other than that.

I went in with zero expectations and that didn't make it any better. It just wasn't funny. Whether I expected a lot or a little, a weak movie is a weak movie. A movie like Shoot Em Up is a movie that doesn't take itself seriously whatsoever, but is still very entertaining. HTTM just was boring.

Actually, I didn't say it wasn't funny. It was funny. And it was exactly what I expected it would be. I wasn't expecting a blazing cinematic experience. It knew it was stupid...stupid can be funny. Just look at some of the nonsense you speak. Hilarious.

if they are good i do...problem is making a good comedy is the hardest thing in movies...and i dont mean making a 18 year old kid from columbus laugh...i mean some real funny shtein...its almost impossible...its why apatow is basically a genius

Pretty much thought the same thing.

BTW, Inception needs to be seen.  It's some strange mix of being incredibly complicated while simultaneously pretty basically straightforward.  I enjoyed it a lot, and it's different than any movie you're going to see for a while.

Jon Hamm is good as Don Draper but he is pretty much the definition of a one note actor.

The funniest part of the trailer is the bolded "From the director of Gone Baby Gone" without ever stating it's Ben Affleck.
