I have never seen the movie and never will.  I couldn't even get through the first Lord of the Rings movie awake... pretty sure this is a snoozer too.

i saw it a couple of years ago and thought it held up as well as any movie from that era could

from a pure historical, contextual perspective it was good and seeing how many different movies and tv shows have referenced it, parodied it or blatantly stole from it. that was interesting.

the move itself was slow and boring, as you would expect, but its not on the level of snoozefest that casablanca or gone with the wind are.

or maybe it was actually an epic, goat-level movie for its time and its held up better than youre ever going to accept.
