Shutter Island - pretty suspenseful and a movie that just keeps you interested all the way through. Definitely worth the watch although some parts can be expected, it doesn't really hurt the film.

B+
Calling it right on the $ since day one.
Just pointing laughing, and living it up while watching the Miami Heat stink it up.

Saturday...I laid aroud all day and watched 4 movies...hadn't done that in ages.

1. Resident Evil
2. Resident Evil- Extinction
3. I am Legend
4. Fallen

All on TBS with commercials. It was a weird zombie-ish paranormal movie kind of day.

Resident Evils- for what they are, they are pretty fun to watch. Don't mind the rediculousness.
I am legend- I wish I would have seen the omega man....can't be much worse.
Fallen- I was pissed at the end...but happy it ended that way at the same time. Nice move.

All of these were made to take up your weekend on television.

Fallen is a pretty good movie.  I really enjoyed it and surprisingly, it has pretty decent re-watch value.

Munson

Yeah I remember seeing Fallen when I was like 12 and I liked it/was freaked out by it.

Not a movie many people know, unfortunately.

perhaps you could explain sd's reasons for "disliking" it as well since you seem to be so in tune with other peoples minds

I can't watch a movie on broadcast TV. Between the edits and commercials, it feels like a complete waste of time...as opposed to the partial waste of time that are most uncut movies.

Rome

The "Legend" alternate ending makes roughly one trillion times more sense than the one they used in the theatrical release.

I can't think of a single reason why they'd use the one where he dies.  It simply made no sense at all.

ice grillin you

why didnt it make sense....i liked it

what was the alternate ending...i think i saw it but i cant remember it

SunMo

the alternate ending was that he realized he was terrorizing them as much as they him, and he let the leader take the one he was doing the tests on back to the group.

i wouldn't say the theater ending didn't make sense, it did...but it didn't fit the theme of the original book

ice grillin you

oh yeah

i dont know about the book but that ending was retarded because these raving killer psycho zombie thingies all of a sudden calm down and dont kill him and have feelings and shtein

seemed to me they were just out to ravage any and every human they could and that they did a complete 180 in those last three minutes

thats what i didnt get, they were monsters, who magically had feelings at the end?  Makes no sense.

but they weren't just out to ravage any human...they were a mutated species just trying to survive.  you could even see during the movie that they had intelligence when they trapped him.  they were after him because he was an enemy who was hunting them.

The scene where the Alpha Male burns himself in the sun after Smith catches his mate in the trap is the key scene in the entire movie.  Look at that scene, then look at the alternate ending, and it all makes sense.

I haven't seen the alt ending, but you're right on with the first part of the post though.  Right after Smith traps that female and the Alpha Male burns himself in the sun, Smith is back in his lab making an entry in his video journal and he comments on the male entering the sun for a few seconds and concludes that it must have been crazy and that there were absolutely no signs of being human left in them, when in actuality, the thing was pissed cause his hoyda got taken away.  And that's probably the most legit human emotion of them all.
