I see the Eagles trading out of 37.

I see it happening if they get a decent deal from Buffalo (maybe their 4th?) trying to move up from #41 to jump ahead of Cleveland at #38 and Oakland at #39.  Minnesota might take one of the QBs at #34 to replace Favre, but the Rams, Bucs and Chiefs won't take the other one, so the Eagles could be sitting in a nice spot assuming Buffalo isn't trying to deal with those three teams directly.  Carolina at #48 needs a QB too but it might be too far to drop....

Teams tend to give up more when a QB they like drops, especially one like Clausen. If they can move back but re-coup a 3rd I'd be less pissed at the Graham trade.

On a different draft angle:  anyone else wish they wouldn't spoil the pick announcement by showing the player and his crew before Roger says the pick?  Takes all the fun out of the surprise.

Yes...it wasn't so bad in years past when they did it every once in a while, but now it seems they know who every team is going to pick (except the Eagles).

Absolutely. NFLN and ESPN are farging awful and shtein like that just makes it all worse.
Is rjs gonna have to choke a bitch?

Let them eat bootstraps.

The whole thing is awful from top to bottom. The least they could do is shut the hell up for the picks.

Love that last word always having to be sneaked in there before Goodell made the pick.

They continued to show the players' names in the graphic they had on the screen several seconds before Goodell made the announcements.  farging awful.  And hilarious.  But mostly awful.

Its starting to remind me of E3. Tons of money and time being spent on pageantry for pageantry's sake. I think I had my fill of it when Deion had a segment with a sponsor.

Medical issues pushed Kindle out of first round

Posted by Gregg Rosenthal on April 23, 2010 11:08 AM ET
Texas linebacker Sergio Kindle surprisingly didn't get selected in the first round Thursday.

Now we know why.

Several teams had Kindle off their board due to medical issues, according to ESPN's Adam Schefter.  Chip Brown of Rivals.com writes that Kindle's knee was a "serious" medical risk that could require microfracture surgery.

Kindle also takes medication for narcolepsy and ADD, although we doubt those are major issues. Kindle is known for his football intelligence, but his durability risks was too great for teams to take in the first round.

At some point in the second round, we think the risk of his injuries will be worth the reward of his considerable talents.

Yikes. Daryl Washington please. Sapp and Thaddeus Gibson (in the third or fourth would be nice).

The draft is really the most anticlimactic event on television... not to mention that it gets more boring with each pick.

I've had the ideas for years that they should record the draft in private, and then play it backwards all the way up to the 1st pick... that would at least add tension to each pick and give it a good ending.

Or they could not televise it at all. I mean, farg. I can see the picks come up online, and read ten thousand reviews of each player, then go to youtube to see highlights of them. What the farg do I need Rich Eisen or Chris Berman for?

By far the most interesting part of day 1 was watching Mel Kiper's love for Jimmy Clausen and hate for Tim Tebow manifest themselves in multiple places.  Also, I thought Gruden might punch him to defend Tebow's honor.
