Zero hour, Michael. It's the end of the line. I'm the firstborn. I'm sick of playing second fiddle. I'm always third in line for everything. I'm tired of finishing fourth. Being the fifth wheel. There are six things I'm mad about, and I'm taking over.

Chiefs want to move back and get more picks.  I'd only do it for Berry, otherwise move up a few to get Thomas, he's got a good name

In terms you'll follow, he's HOF Berry

To use a comparison, the Eagles have traded from the late 20's before to move up to 14-16ish to take players. Like McDougle and Andrews. It cost a late 2nd rounder.

I think 37 would be kept in a trade-up and only 55 would need to be used.

It's Mayock, my big concern with Thomas is that a lot of Texas DBs that have come out haven't lived up to the hype ie Huff and Jammer.  They were definitely better prospects coming out and neither has had the career that was anticipated.

Of course that doesn't mean too much, but it is worth bringing up.  The flip side of that is Griffin has probably been a little better than "they" thought he would be.

Personally I don't really want to see them give up either of their second rounders.  With as deep as this draft is supposed to be they would be better off taking as many players as they can.

Thomas is different from a lot of those DBs because his closing speed is ridiculous. He's more of a ball hawk and will likely force a lot of turnovers and cover well down field.

But if he's the last line of defense on a bigger WR or a TE running at him already with the ball, I have my concerns. Also, can he play close to the LOS?

That is the big concern with him....the playing at the LOS.   I don't know that he could be considered more of a "ballhawk" than those guys.

Yeah, it is definitely a concern, but most players in the draft have concerns. I think his playmaking ability is too attractive to pass up IMO. He's really fast, and seems to have good instincts. After watching Sean Jones being stuck in quick sand when receivers run past him, Thomas would be a breath of fresh air.

Because of the depth of this years draft, would you be willing to trade next years first to move up in the 1st round this year, so you can keep your 2nd and 3rd rounders?

perhaps you could explain sd's reasons for "disliking" it as well since you seem to be so in tune with other peoples minds

The BIGSTUD

Uhhh... no. The schedule is tough and that could be a great pick.

I can't see any conceivable way they're giving up Washington's pick in the 2nd round.  I'd bet the house Reid trades it for a #1 next year, so that way he can say that he turned the McNabb trade into a #1 pick.
