Thinking about buying this tonight...Volkswagon CC Sport. Aside from what the dealer has told me and the consumer reviews I've read online, I haven't spoke to anyone who either owns or knows of someone who owns one..I figured I'd try here..Anyone?

well, I wouldn't buy any model VW for three reasons:

poor quality
cost of repairs/parts

yep, Dio is right.  Might as well get an Audi

That's what I have now...A6..time for a trade-in.

Agreed on the usual gheyness of VW's, but this one seems pretty ballsy.

my buddy has one. its got that Lexus E350 look going for it. gotta get the VR6 sport if you do it. standard CC might feel weak to you

its got something like 280 horsepower--once you test drive it and get that kick, you might be down if you can handle the price increase

I like VW/Audi, but the CC seems like an overpriced Passat.  For similar/less money, you can get a souped up Ford Fusion hybrid.  Oil's climbing up again - belee dat.

Most people I know who had a VW, never got another one. But if your used to spending out the ass for service work then so be it.

i'd like to see die hard in a smart car.

I saw a guy in a red convertible smart car, with flame decals on the sides, wearing a beret, and texting today.  He seemed like exactly the type of guy Die Hard would punch.

I had three of them. My first was a Rabbit, and I traded it in on a GTI. My wife totaled it about 6 months after I got it. Years later, when the kids were older, I picked up a used GTI as my second "fun" car. It was an easy car to work on myself.

at least 25 dead in west va coal mine explosion

http://www.cnn.com/2010/US/04/06/mine.disaster.safety/index.html?hpt=T1

QuoteVirginia-based Massey Energy Co. has racked up millions of dollars in penalties in recent years. The Montcoal, West Virginia, mine where Monday's fatal explosion took place received 458 citations from federal inspectors in 2009, and more than 50 of those were for problems that the operators knew about but had not corrected, according to federal mine safety records.

over 500 total citations in 2009 and over 120 so far this year, including 58 in march.  just saw an interview with the guy who runs the company in charge of the mines......this guy is straight up farging evil, banking hundreds of millions in profits while subjecting the uneducated mountain dwelling masses to substandard safety standards, poor working conditions and a barely modest wage (about $40k/year).

over the years, his mines are consistently cited for failing to meet safety regulations.  how the farg can he be cited over 500 times in one year and not have the mine shut down?  oh yeah, he's a big contributor to local politicians.  hopefully this guy shows up in the good riddance thread in the near future.

btw.....the interview i saw was diane sawyer on abc evening news and it was a complete joke of an interview.  she asked him about 3 questions, all of which were extremely vague and so open that he didn't really answer them.  way to ask the tough questions there diane.
