QuoteEagles wide receiver DeSean Jackson indicated earlier in the offseason that after making the Pro Bowl in his second NFL season at both wideout and punt returner, he would like to see his contract adjusted and the Eagles have indicated they would like to do that, but that the peculiar rules governing the expiring collective bargaining agreement make it very difficult right now and Jackson could make only 30 percent more than the $385,000 he made last season. In a WIP (610-AM) appearance yesterday with Howard Eskin and Ike Reese, Jackson wasn't asked directly about the 30 percent rule, but he said he and Eagles coach Andy Reid "are on the same page." "The 30 percent rule, it is what it is," he said, adding that he hopes a new collective bargaining agreement will create a more favorable atmosphere. "I'm a patient guy. I'm going to sit back and patiently wait. I know my time will come, sooner or later." Jackson said he wasn't planning to miss any OTAs or anything to dramatize his plight. "You've got my word, I'll be here," he said.

well rome, looks like you can calm down about djack becoming the next owens.

Butchers Bill

I believe I've passed the age of consciousness and righteous rage
I found that just surviving was a noble fight.
I once believed in causes too,
I had my pointless point of view,
And life went on no matter who was wrong or right.

I, for one, love the idea of trading a guy that's got five more good years in him for a guy and some draft picks that won't be on the roster in two years.

Ditto. Great move. Can't wait to go to the games!

sheldon is washed up but trading him for what essentially amounts to a bag of balls is a clear indication of two things:

1. banner inc is cheap
2. bannier inc is resentful

but didnt we already know that? how didnt we see this coming? sheldon spoke out, wanted more $, never towed the company line, never kissed banners ring, probably looked down on roseman, probably privately spoke out against andy. he was a "troublemaker" and someone who wasnt buying into the "plan." he was a bad influence on the young guys.

he had to go. had to.
Zero hour, Michael. It's the end of the line. I'm the firstborn. I'm sick of playing second fiddle. I'm always third in line for everything. I'm tired of finishing fourth. Being the fifth wheel. There are six things I'm mad about, and I'm taking over.

did you enjoy watching his carcass run up and down the field last year? jeez i know you love the guy but hes not a top tier corner anymore. not that im defending banner inc for the move, but its not like they gave up someone in his prime.

he just turned farging 30. he's not past his prime.

He played injured all year. It happens.

You're a moron. We deal.

Really?? Glad to see this will be the new thing for a while.

Because I'm too lazy to look, can someone post all the picks the Eagles now have?

For who? Him? He never missed a game and never had injury issues before last year. What theme?
