we had constant issues when we first switched back to comcast but they fixed it after i called my friend who is way up the corp ladder there. since then its been great until recently. nothing major but just frigging annoying. again they said it has to do with them merging lower bucks with some of the other neighboring areas to our north and the upgrades and should be fixed this week.

I'm the opposite, I have issues with cable TV. It always skips and is digitized. Also, I get constant errors with on demand. Like I'll try to play a movie and it will skip constantly and get blocky, and I'll have to exit on demand and try again. Also random channels for me say "this channel should be available shortly" and they never are.

I've had a tech come out and check my lines and signal strength and they all check out.

i guarantee there's a water seepage issue with king cole's lines.  i had the exact same problem because the co-ax is routed under my house and somehow the splitter had come loose from the beam and fallen next to the entrance to the crawl space.  water leaked into the box and bam all the issues he's talking about began.

it might not be an issue at his house but somewhere along the line from the pole to the box there's water intrusion.

FYI - the guy i know that works for comcast said most of the techs are dopes and just do the minimal checks and leave, he had to make a call for me to get our stuff straight after 7 visits. it was actually funny seeing him look at my house and neighborhood from his home PC and find the issue and then call and rip the manager in my area.

he also has access tothe comcast music library.   8)

It's possible it could be seepage. They checked the actual box before. I actually had it swap out a few times and the same results. I've just dealt with it. Whatever I can't watch on TV I just watch on the computer. I have a big/good enough monitor and specs to make watching movies and shows enjoyable.

I remember when I called in one time, one of the tech support guys who actually sounded like he knew what he was talking about told me that their services often are hit and miss in certain areas. Some areas never have problems and some seem to have problems more than others. Not sure if he is right or not.

i've been with directv for about 10 years now and i can't really say i've ever had any major complaints with them.....until now.  and they're pissing me the farg off.

in a nutshell, they overcharged $90 me for my sunday ticket last year.  i called them in january after looking at my statements and pointed it out to them and was assured that my account would be credited on feb bill.  it wasn't.  so i called in feb and was assured that my account would be credited for march.  just got march's statement this week and still no credit.  so i called today and got the same story again except that i had the priviledge of speaking to a farging nitwit who had no idea what he was doing.  so i'm pretty sure that when april comes around, there won't be any credit on my account.

i'll probably call back tonight after work when i have time to spend 20 minutes on the phone and ask to go straight to a supervisor and see if i can get caked off with a few free months of hbo so i can watch the pacific.

call back, if i get anyone not in the US, i just hang up.  Keep calling till they do an instant credit, they'll do it, and you will get an email confirmation that its been completed.  I called to bitch about the Versus dispute, and that i pay for Center Ice and they wont be carrying a ton of games because of the whole VS fight with comcast.  They gave an instant credit to my account for my Inconvenience.  Just charm em up, and ask to get a confirmation of the credit.  I'd imagine you need to be setup for online stuff thru their website, so they can email you.

i had DTV for a few years. issue is i live behind a golf course and i have a big tree line behind me. i did get service but god forbid if it even got cloudy and i would have signal issues. that plus no CNS led me to go back to comcast.

yeah, definitely the downfall of satellites is having the clear path for a signal.  I never lose my signal unless 2 things happen, 1.  A huge storm with Heavy rain coming from the SW(usually i shut down my TV anyway because of lightning) 2. Snow getting stuck on the dish, and that's only the heavy wet show that does it.
