Be careful when checking out Cracked. You'll find yourself reading their lists for hours.

The man. The myth. The legend.

Rome

QuoteWhich brings us to the Citizen Kane of all films: Citizen Kane. Anyone who cares a little too much about movies swears Orson Wells's 1942 film is the best thing ever projected onto a silver screen. And it's not like people didn't realize it at the time: It was nominated for nine Academy Awards, and was widely expected to win most if not all of them. Then William Randolph Hearst, the publishing giant whose life Kane is loosely based on, started a smear campaign that focused on director Orson Wells's contempt for Hollywood. On the night of the Awards, the audience of Academy members actually booed every time Wells's name was mentioned. The most influential film of all time lost Best Picture to How Green Was My Valley, a film that archeological records indicate nobody gave a shtein about even then.

yea usually those lists not only suck but are written by...well im setting up a joke at my expense here.

anyway that was really good and really kind of funny. which is a stretch for cracked and the internet as a whole.
Zero hour, Michael. It's the end of the line. I'm the firstborn. I'm sick of playing second fiddle. I'm always third in line for everything. I'm tired of finishing fourth. Being the fifth wheel. There are six things I'm mad about, and I'm taking over.

Rome

the one about apple was farging hilarious.  and spooky.  but mostly hilarious.

MURP

Magic vs Bird on HBO - good flick.  Interesting to see two super stars jealous of each other at the same time, be mortal enemies and good friends.

Seabiscuit36

the HBO movie about Jack Kavorkian "You Dont Know Jack" looks great

ice grillin you

the great debaters - formulaic to a fault and horrendously bad acting by two of the main characters is offset by a super bleeding heart true storyline and an awesome performance by ghost dog...and of course denzel is denzel

6/10

jesus camp - seen bits here and there but finally sat through the entire thing. and i wish i hadnt. not in the sense that it was bad, but in the sense that it scared the living bejesus out of me. you farging people are nuts with your god damn god. ease up on the jesus please. 4/5

precious - solid movie but in no way shape or form is it great. monique was of course superb but the direction was often times...directionless. like the mom and daughter are having this incredibly intense fight and lee daniels cuts it to have precious dancing around in a dream sequence. now having those things are all well and good, but not in the middle of that scene and scenes like it. also i would gladly put my pinkie finger into paula pattons butt. 3/5

i watched the men who stare at goats and it was ok.  review over.

Eagles_Legendz

Men Who Stare at Goats was bad.  I have no idea what motivated me to see that movie.  Same thing with Extract.

Invictus was brutal too while we're on the topic of bad movies from last year.  My gf fell asleep and I almost walked out.

We're going to check out Brooklyn's Finest today. I'm excited to see this one.

PhillyPhreak54

Brooklyn's Finest = 8/10

Loved it. WeeBay, Omar and Clay Davis (small part) were in there. Don Cheadle was outstanding as always and Richard Gere and Ethan Hawke were pretty good themselves.

The guy who directed this also did Training Day and it had the same feel of a gritty cop movie with a lot of shooting and underhanded shtein going on.

Highly recommend checking it out.

Sgt PSN

looking forward to seeing that.  might even pony up the $20 to see it in the theater instead of waiting for netflix.

speaking of netflix, my savage and i take turns picking what we watch.  last night was my turn to choose but i've been working A LOT over the last few months and she's been largely ignored when i get home at night because i'm usually exhausted and i could tell she's been getting increasingly irritated with me.  so we watched the proposal.  romantic comedies are almost always horrible and overall, this one wasn't any different.  however, it did manage to have just enough laugh out loud moments scattered throughout to make it tolerable.  and watching betty white sing "till the sweat drops down my balls" from lil john was admittedly, pretty funny.

it was pretty much 90 minutes of crap but it made the savage happy and probably contributed to my waking up with my scalp still in tact so i'll chalk it up as a victory for me.
