I like the new conference trophies more because they are shiny and hold my attention longer.

If I was on the Eagles and won a SB I'd like my ring to say "Dallas Sucks" instead of shtein like the SB# and score.

QuoteOlsen unhappy with hiring of Martz, wants a trade

Posted by Michael David Smith on March 3, 2010 9:59 AM ET
New Chicago Bears offensive coordinator Mike Martz has signaled that he doesn't think tight end Greg Olsen is a good fit in his offense, noting that he believes a tight end's responsibility is to block while the Bears have been sending out signals that they want to sign tight end Brandon Manumaleuna.

It turns out the feeling is mutual.

Peggy Kusinski of NBC Chicago reports that friends of Olsen say he was not happy about the hiring of Martz, and that he quietly sent his agent, Drew Rosenhaus, into "trade request" mode. According to Kusinski, the Arizona Cardinals and New England Patriots may be interested.

Olsen led the Bears in catches (60) and touchdowns (eight) in 2009.

I like Celek a whole bunch, but I would be thrilled if the Birds somehow landed Olsen. Dude could be ridiculous in this offense.

Olsen and Celek in a 2 TE set?  Yes please.

how about one good safety or linebacker before two good pass catching te's
i can take a phrase thats rarely heard...flip it....now its a daily word

igy gettin it done like warrick

Signing a superfluous player does not exclude them from being able to sign a much needed player.

The man. The myth. The legend.

of course it does....the eagles arent dallas or the skins who can just go out and stockpile multiple starters at the same positions...not that they would pay a back up starters money anyway

now if you want to trade celek and get olsen that would be doable...but there are positions that are in much more need of attention than a second TE and to waste valuable resources there would be not smurt

yea seriously

do we not remember how brutal that defense was? but no, forget about that, its time to get greg olson.
Zero hour, Michael. It's the end of the line. I'm the firstborn. I'm sick of playing second fiddle. I'm always third in line for everything. I'm tired of finishing fourth. Being the fifth wheel. There are six things I'm mad about, and I'm taking over.

adding greg olson means thats a couple of passes each game that aren't thrown to pimp or maclin or avant.  no thanks.

not to mention that i like celek and don't see olson as that much of an upgrade, if he even is.  i guess maybe he's a better blocker but as far as recieving skills, i'd have to say they're about even.

Olsen is at this point a much better pass catcher with much more YAC ability than Celek. Celek would probably be the better blocker to be honest. It would obviously make Celek expendable if they added Olsen.

Doesn't matter, not going to happen. My original post was to point out that they are probably going to move him, not that I was pining for the Birds to add him.

guess i don't watch enough bears football because i wouldn't think of olson to be a better receiver.  or maybe i'm just being a homer.

Olsen is showing all the signs of being a top five TE, he's just been in a good awful offense since being drafted. Supposedly he can't block for shtein, which is why he's on the outs.

No on Olsen.

Defense please.

PhillyPhanInDC

Absolutely defense. But I wouldn't bitch if they went out and got Olsen. Besides, they don't have players from the U on the current squad. Do they?

Celek's shown signs of being a top 5 TE too and doesn't block for shtein. I'd just as soon see an excellent blocking TE to compliment Celek.

Munson

Celek's blocking definitely improved over the year. Except for when Reid insisted on leaving him alone against DeMarcus Ware, of course.

perhaps you could explain sd's reasons for "disliking" it as well since you seem to be so in tune with other peoples minds
