Dead Snow is now available on Netflix on Demand.  You're welcome

Got it today.  Review tonight.

REVIEW EDIT:  Think a cross between Evil Dead 1 and The Fog.  With Nazis.  Not the worst zombie flick I've ever seen, but...

rjs246

I loved it.

Constant nods to the Evil Dead movies. Constant violence. Ridiculous and completely excessive gore. A back story that makes absolutely no sense (Nazi Zombies!). I enjoyed every second of it.

exactly, it doesnt make sense at all, gore galore, just needed more nudity

Just added it to my queue. Should be a good weekend diversion.

variety gave the crazies a nice review...i didnt realize its a romero remake...i was going to def see it tonight until the buzz for ghost writer ramped up...its supposed to be a really good political thriller a genre that i love...now im torn

As soon as the clips for The Crazies started coming out the status for the original Romero joint jumped up to 'very long wait' on Netflix. Never underestimate the power of the scary movie nerd fanbase.

the only place other than variety (which gets screenings for EVERYTHING) i can find reviews of the crazies are on nerdy scary movie websites....this is usually a terrible sign for something to not be released for screening but variety liked it...not that reviews of horror movies mean a whole lot...a good review usually means its phenominal but horror is the one genre that can get consistently awful reviews and still be a good movie

It's getting across the board good reviews (even the bad reviews give it credit for certain things or are written by admitted horror-movie haters) on Rotten Tomatoes.

Plus Ghost Writer is only showing in NY and LA. Decision made.

I just read that it was only in NY and LA. Meh. The other thing is that for as much as I love Polanski movies, I'm not really into the whole anally raping children and then fleeing the country thing. So my flaccid attempt at protest is not paying $9 to see his movies in the theater.

And I don't like people enough to continue living in big cities. I'm gonna try my hand at population 1-million for a while and see how that treats me.

yeah i thought about that and its a little unsavory to me as well but i dont have near the scruples to not see the movie

Funny People - liked it more than I thought I would.  Sandler was good and Seth Rogen was less Rogenish than his other movies.  Jonah Hill is hilarious, as usual.
I'm the Anti-Christ. You got me in a vendetta kind of mood.

not exactly sure what makes it so special, but i know that it is the competition for imax.  so i guess it's kind of like hd vs blue ray in the dvd market.  probably not much difference between the 2, but a significant upgrade over a standard dvd.....or in this case, a standard movie theater.

my guess is that it's on a larger screen than a standard theater, probably in some sort of "hd" quality and better sound.

so while already on the computer, instead of looking it up, we have one person asking a question, and then another person, instead of looking it up, guessing the answer.  this place rules.
