Anyone who has netflix received Inglorius bastiches yet? It's been at the top of my que for three weeks and it isn't available yet.

i'm supposed to be getting it today.  guess i'll find out when i get home.

got it on thursday, finally got to watch it tonight.  not sure why you didn't get it yet because i just bumped it to the top of my queue last week.

really good flick but not nearly as much blood and guts as i was expecting.    7.5/10

the only real big knock i have on it is that there were several times during the movie that the subtitles were hard to read because the background was the same/similar color.

I really liked Shutter Island.  As reese said, might not be for everyone, but I enjoyed it a lot.

I enjoyed it a lot too. It didn't seem too long to me, I actually thought it was needed to let the story develop like it did. DiCaprio, Kingsley and Ruffalo were all great.

The BIGSTUD

Quarantine: I went in with insanely low expectations and I actually thought the movie was pretty decent. Maybe it was because I expected a terrible movie, but it was actually pretty interesting and enjoyable. Better than I thought it would be. The constant screaming at the end got a little annoying, but not enough to ruin it.
Calling it right on the $ since day one.
Just pointing laughing, and living it up while watching the Miami Heat stink it up.

District 9 - not a huge scifi fan but this was terrifically shot and executed. Really visionary and intense filmmaking even though it was another alien story, albeit are a more thought provoking and layered one

3.5/5
Zero hour, Michael. It's the end of the line. I'm the firstborn. I'm sick of playing second fiddle. I'm always third in line for everything. I'm tired of finishing fourth. Being the fifth wheel. There are six things I'm mad about, and I'm taking over.

The write-up sounds better than 3.5,

taking of phelan 123 - pretty disspointing movie considering that it's got some pretty big names in it.  no real character development, the plot was pretty thin to begin with and the movie itself was just way too simple and predictable to the point where you not only knew what was going to happen next, but you pretty much knew what was going to be said next.   there's barely a reason to watch this movie 1 time and absolutely no reason to ever watch it again.

1/5

It's almost becoming a rule of thumb...more than one or two big names in a movies and the shtein is going to stink.

The original with Robert Shaw and Walter Matthau is excellent, highly recommend seeing it instead.

On an unrelated note, saw Bronson last night.  Definitely arthouse indie type of movie, a biopic of what goes on inside the head of "the most violent inmate in England".  Apparently, he actually exists, and this is loosely based on him.  Very interesting, not a complete waste of 2 hours, but not for everyone.
