There's a fault line running North-South across the midwest.  Saw a show on the History Channel, where a series of earthquakes hit around St Lo that were so severe, the Mississippi actually flowed north for a period.  There's also a lake that formed from in a sinkhole caused by the earthquake.

The problem with the bad Toyotas (well, at least the accelerator problem) is because of shoddy work in China. I wonder how much labor cost they saved.

Huh...it was my understanding that the company which makes the pedals is based in Indiana.  Even if they procure some parts for these pedals from China, I have a hard time swallowing the idea that this can be blamed on China.

It was my understanding that the models in question were assembled in China. My Highlander and Rav4, both assembled in Japan, aren't part of the recall.

anyone here ever sell something on ebay or is anyone knowledgeble on ebay selling policies, specifically related to shipping costs?

here's the scenerio....my savage sex slave copped a butter joint off ebay and had a $2.50 shipping charge in addition to the price of the item.  but when the item showed up, the postage on the envelope was a 44 cent stamp.  we emailed the seller and asked what the excess charge was for and he replied with "listing fee, envelope and bubble wrap, gas to and from the post office and his time."

i'm thinking that's kind of shady.  probably won't make a big stink about her being over charged $2 on shipping charges but it's something that got me wondering how "liberal" sellers can be when advertising shipping costs.  to me, the advertised shipping cost should be the actual cost of the postage itself and none of that other garbage.  if you want to be compensated for the other expenses that come with listing an item, then you should probably include that in the starting bid price, not the shipping.  is this correct?

SunMo

was the shipping price listed up front?  if so, you don't really have much to complain about.  as long as he shipped it the method he listed in the auction, you knew the charges going in and if he could ship it for less than that's to his benefit.  that's how i always saw it anyway.

thats SOP for ebay

the seller can charge anything he or she wants for shipping....its not like its a hidden cost or anything its listed before you buy the item...ive sold and bought tons of stuff and ive never seen a shipping charge not be much more than the actual postage and actually the fact that the difference in yours was only like two bucks is actually very low
i can take a phrase thats rarely heard...flip it....now its a daily word

igy gettin it done like warrick

im the board pharmacist....always one step above yous
