The Hurt Locker: good, but not as good as the reviews said. Too many cliched and unrealistic parts in the movie. Also, I thought a lot of the plot points never fully played out to give the movie better character development. It still had some tense moments though and  interesting scenes about morality.

I liked it, but I would have preferred to have even a little bit of feel goodness. But hey...I understand why it didn't.

i dont know him at all really...is that how he is?...what is his career anyway...i never heard of him before the hangover...is he sat nite live alum or something?

anyway thats exactly how he is in this movie..as is the picture in general

I think he's more of the Sarah Silverman group. Pretty sure he's never done SNL. Essentially his show is him playing a piano, telling a joke every now and then, and sometimes going off on a rant when the joke's flat just to keep the audience into it.

Never been on it, but he'll be hosting March 6th...

watched "Off the Grid: Life on the Mesa"  a doc about people get this living off the grid on a mesa.  Pretty interesting though, everyone is pretty much crazy, with flaws, but they operate as their own society/government without involving outside parties.  Some of the people you feel for, like the one 17 yo runaway who's junkie mom shot her up with heroin as a baby.  She clearly has some effects of that, and is just looking for love and acceptance.  The old farmer Stan who takes in run away kids to help on his pig farm.  Def worth the watching time.

Sin Nombre: Good movie. The cinematography was really well done, and the director went through a lot just to shoot the movie. I thought the story was good and you felt for the characters and their situations. The movie was pretty short though, and I thought they could have fit more in to develop the characters and their personalities a little more. I recommend it, really strong movie.

I was *this close* to getting Hurt Locker next in my Netflix queue, but it got nominated for best picture and is now on "you might get it someday" wait list. Looking forward to seeing it.

About the trailer for "Run ___ Run", LULZ! First thing it reminded me of was "I spit on your grave".

i loved the hurt locker.  i can't imagine what parts of it seemed unrealistic to anyone.

watched dave chapelle's block party the other night, not sure how i've never seen it.  very good and great music.  fugees reunion, mos def and talib, dead prez, kanye, big daddy kane, jill scott and erykah badu and lots of others.

James did things in the movie that would get you in serious trouble in the military, and broke protocol a ton of times like it was nothing. People just... don't do that kind of stuff. Not to mention he puts his fellow soldiers at risk numerous times.

Inglourious Basterds: Damn good movie. Great blend of story, acting, tense moments(like every time Col. Landa is on the screen, and comedy. I'm not really a Brad Pitt fan, but he was good in this. Provided some comedic relief and it didn't feel forced or cheesy. It deserves all the praise.

perhaps you could explain sd's reasons for "disliking" it as well since you seem to be so in tune with other peoples minds

He talked that whole scene with a southern accent. That was farging great.  :-D
