The Kindle with its greyscale and no shiny screen is going to stomp all over that thing for reading books. It might go over well with people who don't read much though.

to me it just looks like a gigantic iPhone and I don't think it does anything that the iPhone can't.

Does it do calls? If so, NBA players are going to love never losing their phones again.

Its a big iphone, thats it. If you have a iphone and a mac computer I see no point. While very cool, its pointless to me unless they can turn it into a tool for design. Then I may jump on board. For once I'd like to see Apple release a typical Apple product for considerably less $ than they normally charge. I understand why they charge more for their stuff, but for once, release something affordable.

i still hate the crackberry and can't upgrade until august.  so naturally, i dropped my phone in the toilet yesterday (don't ask) and it died on impact.  i went to at&t (closest store is about 50 miles away) to get a replacement and the girl told me i need to call at&t insurance people and they'll mail me a new phone.  can't really go 3 or 4 days without a phone.  so i tried asking to do an upgrade again and she looked at my account and said no.  then she pointed out that my dad is eligible for an upgrade and i could use his if i want.

this ended up working out damn near perfect because he just moved to nc.....the mountainous, hillbilly part and gets no signal at his house....only when he's in town.  so i stole his upgrade and picked up a 16g 3gs.  i think i spent about 3 hours downloading free apps and just playing with it.  thing is farging bad ass.

I have the 32, and I can't think of anything I'd want to upgrade to when my upgrade time rolls around.

Sgt PSN

32 was a bit much for me.....both price wise and i think just having that many gigs available is more than i need.   of course, i say that now but in a month or so when i've managed to fill it up i'll probably be bitching about it.

Susquehanna Birder

I just figured that if too much was better than not enough. I'm about 1/2 filled now, what with all the music, movies, podcasts, and the like. Oh, and the apps. :)

Sgt PSN

yeah, i was originally going to go with the 8g but opted to go 16 for the same reason.  i've got my 60 or 80g (i forget which) ipod that if i really feel the need to have all of my songs, vids and podcasts available at one time, i can always use that.  otherwise, the iphone should suffice on a day to day basis.

Sgt PSN

So it's only been a day but this phone is pretty bad ass. I was vaguely familiar with them before but am amazed at how simple it is to use.

It's infinity x better than that pos black berry that I had before. Dropping that thing in the toilet is now looking like a fortunate mistake.

gps is a pain in the ass and inaccurate.
the camera has no flash and is only 3megs.
if you put more then 4 pages of apps on it it'll start to bog it down.
wash your hands.
repeat.
clean screen.
wash hands.
don't touch phone.

seriously, its a pain in the ass. i thought it was cool at first but really i'm just afraid of breaking it, or scratching it.  its fun for like a month.  maybe you like it more.. but i really just think its a bunch of hype.  it has an ipod on it.. so thats cool.. but anything else is stuff any other phone can do.  oh, and get a charger cuz your battery lasts like 10 minutes.. unless you turn off 3g, location services, wifi search.. basically any of the features that make it the "iphone".  the app's leave a lot to be desired unless you want to start forking over some cash. thats probably my biggest gripe.  if i had any time i would jailbreak it and see what it could really do.  apple really has the handcuffs on it.
