haha, yes, that throw was "a little" behind Maclin and had a very catchable pace too...

He barely had to twist his body around.....all he did was reach back with both hands. If you are able to reach back with both hands without having to twist your body around...you should be catching the ball. Period.

Every player in the NFL will tell you the same thing. I promise.

perhaps you could explain sd's reasons for "disliking" it as well since you seem to be so in tune with other peoples minds

i wonder how we know that Jason Avant has such great hands?

oh yeah, it's because he's constantly making fantastic catches on terrible throws by Donovan, that's how.

Yeah, that's it. Because he always has to contort his body to make catches.

You do know that sometimes it is up to the receiver to make a play, right? That the ball is not always going to be chest level.

Have you bought your #4 jersey yet?

again, i point you to the drives mcnabb had to win/tie against st louis and arizona. the epic choke against tampa. the no show against carolina and the McNabb, that sweet hunk of man meat, and 2 dreadful ints against the pats.

that had nothing to do with coaching everything to do with mcnabb coming up short on his ownself.

I don't recall ever saying he didn't choke in those games....?

And McNabb did get them the lead despite being down by 20+ points at one point during the Arizona game....why didn't the defense hold that lead?

boom, there it is.

mcnabb had all the time in the world and about half the field to the tie game. he failed. end of story.

Again, he came back and took the lead in the 4th quarter....why do you attack him for the loss when the defense is the one that choked up the lead?

none of those qb's is 1-6 in championship games

like it or not that will be mcnabbs legacy in this league

that's because none of them have ever made it there lolol. And look at the teams McNabb used to do it with...sheesh. There's no way James Thrash should be the #1 WR of an NFC Championship team...

saying mcnabb is better than drew brees or phillip rivers becauser they havent won a superbowl is like me saying brad johnson or trent dilfer are better than mcnabb because they did win one...its just an immature non sensical sports argument made by people who arent sports fans

LT is the biggest Hoyda in history as soon as the playoffs start.  Rivers is only getting better and no one in their right minds would take McNabb over him.

Same with Brees.  Tell me you'd take McNabb over Brees.  The rest, as I said are debatable but you could easily say you'd prefer Rodgers or Romo over McNabb right now.  Palmer's injuries have made him too much of a game manager and I hate Favre but McNabb is not in the upper half of QBs among playoff squads.

Brees
Favre
Romo
Warner
Rodgers
McNabb

Manning
Rivers
Brady
Palmer
Sanchez
Flacco

How many of those quarterbacks do you take over McNabb THIS YEAR in the playoffs?

Manning, Rivers, Brady, Brees, and Warner should be automatic.

You could easily make a case for Rodgers/Romo/Favre/Palmer too.

I'd rather have McNabb than Favre and Palmer but someone could easily make a case the only two QBs in the playoffs that they'd rather have McNabb over are Sanchez and Flacco.

Favre is basically have a career year but you would want Mcnabb over him? Gotcha

MDS

took the lead = threw the ball up in the air and pimp made a godly play

qbs earn their keep on those kinds of drives and he went 4 and out faster than your mom throws out your electric bill.
Zero hour, Michael. It's the end of the line. I'm the firstborn. I'm sick of playing second fiddle. I'm always third in line for everything. I'm tired of finishing fourth. Being the fifth wheel. There are six things I'm mad about, and I'm taking over.

Munson

Hahaha I'm not nor have I ever said he was BETTER Than either Rivers OR Brees.....you're putting words in my mouth to try and make your retarded argument.

I'm saying it's funny how people point them out as better than McNabb in the playoffs when they have done little to nothing to justify it. You're basing it on absolutely nothing other than blind hatred for McNabb.

Wait you mean McNabb threw up a ball and the WR had to make a play on it...and he did?!?!!?

Welcome to the NFL! Have you ever watched a game?

lolololol...so throwing a deep TD pass is discounted because Jackson had to make a bobbling catch?!

If Warner makes that throw to Larry Fitz and the exact same scenario played out, what would you say? That Warner sucked and just threw the ball up there?

Of course not. Warner would be hailed as Football Jesus.

MDS

god youre so dumb

theres a difference between pimp winning a jump ball and maclin having to reach behind his body and snare a 1000 mph fastball

and that play wasnt good enough. it didnt do enough. the defense let mcnabb down, sure. but he had the chance to answer back and he failed. enough of these excuses that 4 and out is his farging legacy.

ice grillin you

id take almost all of those guys over mcnabb right now...and most of them easily just because with mcnabb you pretty much know youre not going to get a good performance in a big game...the others have either shown they can or at least hold some hope that they might

farve i would not take at this stage of his career

I can't stand Favre and I don't  trust him on the road in the playoffs, so if he was QBing the Eagles, yes I'd rather have McNabb.  As I said though, plennnty of people could make a case that they'd rather have Favre.

Munson

lol it's fun having this talk with people who have never done anything athletic in their lives.

Jewboy, I promise...no I guarentee you that every player in the NFL, including Maclin, will tell you that if the ball hits you in the hands, you catch it. That's it. That's the golden rule of being a WR.

Especially a first round draft pick WR who's supposed to be a playmaker.

thats such a nonsensical thing to say. watch the play again and if you honestly believe that was a catchable ball you are dumber than we originally thought.

it would have been a prayer for maclin to catch it. youre basically working off milliseconds of instincts in that spot. or, if mcnabb wasnt a choker, maclin could have caught it in stride and maybe the eagles would have lost 24-3.
