I think it's great what he did. The NFL needs to lighten up.

i think it's because h2h records only matter when it's only two teams tied.  but with 4-5 teams or whatever tied right now, you can't go by head to head and it's division and conference records.  but if it was just balt and den tied next week then the ravens would go.

i think.

ice grillin you

that makes sense but if all the 8-7 teams win next week baltimore gets in over denver

thus why wouldnt they get in over denver today?

Denver has the highest strength of victory among the three teams right now, so they're temporarily at #5:

Denver = .517
N.Y. Jets = .492
Baltimore = .392

...then the Jets temporarily get #6 over the Ravens due to common games (Jets = 3-1 + CIN, Ravens = 0-4 + OAK).

If all three win next Sunday, Denver's SOV takes a hit because the Chiefs suck, while the Jets SOV will improve because the Bengals have 10 wins.  The Jets will have the highest SOV among the three teams, so they'd get the #5 seed, then it starts over from the first tiebreaker and Baltimore beat Denver, so they'd get #6...

QB Eagles

The Broncos don't control their own destiny, but they get in with so many different scenarios (and can even lose and get in if there's only one 9-7 team) and they have an easy matchup. If the Bengals decide to actually play on Sunday night, Denver might have better chances than the Jets.

Firmly in anybody-but-Steelers mode here. I'm hearing so much "team of destiny" horseshtein that you guys wouldn't believe.

The BIGSTUD

The NFC is really becoming the more well-rounded conference. The top 2 teams in the AFC are better than the top 2 in the NFC, but top to bottom, I think the NFC is more competitive.

I've seen the Bengals play a lot this season and I don't even know how they had the success they did. Their offense is ridiculously inconsistent. That passing attack used to be so explosive when Palmer was healthy, and now it is just mediocre at best.

Then you have the garbage AFC teams fighting for the WC. They all suck.
Calling it right on the $ since day one.
Just pointing laughing, and living it up while watching the Miami Heat stink it up.

General_Failure

Inconsistent offenses can't make the playoffs.

The man. The myth. The legend.

afc 36-27 vs nfc

the five afc 8-7 teams fighting for the wildcard 12-8 vs the nfc

when pittsburgh and baltimore might miss the playoffs its a sign that you have a pretty good conference

Pittsburgh has lost to KC, Oakland, Chicago and the Browns. They shouldn't make the playoffs. Period.

Well, according to some folks logic, since they threw up three clunkers against zesty teams, they are not a good team right?

Because thats what is said about the Eagles because they shtein the bed against Oakland and almost blew the game against Denver.

ice grillin you

no i think the argument against the eagles is more like they lost to oakland AND havent beaten a team this year that has more than eight wins
