October 1...somewhere around there.  The official name is "Mall of America Field at Hubert H. Humphrey Metrodome" (of Minneapolis :P ) for the next 3 years...

What did they pay, ten bucks for all that? Surely less than the Bears took for the naming rights of their friggin' team.

Quotetaterskins rule out Larry Johnson
Posted by Gregg Rosenthal on November 11, 2009 2:27 PM ET
The teams first linked to Larry Johnson have slowly started to rule him out.

First, the Texans said no thanks.  Now the taterskins have confirmed that they will not be pursuing Johnson.

The lack of interest makes sense; Washington could desperately use some youth at the position, but they already have a capable backup type in Ladell Betts.

Patriots coach Bill Belichick didn't comment on the team's interest when asked Wednesday, but that's his philosophy no matter who the prospective free agent is.

"What we're interested in is the Indianapolis Colts," Belichick said.

The question now becomes who may be interested in Johnson.  Johnson's agent Peter Schaffer told Adam Schefter that he's "talking with many teams and two you would never guess."

We'll see shortly what teams Schaffer's talking about.  Or if he's bluffing.

I'm honestly surprised.  I picked him up in fantasy thinking with Portis hurt he would probably be the starter this week.  With all the retardation in the Eagles this year, it wouldn't surprise me if he ended up on the Eagles.  Just because there is no need for him at all.

if portis cant run behind that hideous offensive line a larry johnson doesnt have a prayer matty

i agree.  which is why i assumed the skins would do it.

Sgt PSN

i don't get it.  big name, passed his prime, injury riddled player with a poor attitude.  seems like a perfect fit for the snyder business model.

farg, i hope this isn't a sign of danny boy changing his tactics.

I think the problem here is Portis is buddy buddy with Snyder. How many RBs have they brought in since getting Portis?

I saw this elsewhere. This makes no sense, and is a horrible move if they do it. They finally stopped being dysfunctional and now are going to bring this clown in.

This move has Marvin Lewis written all over it.  He's always looking to rehabilitate NFL garbage and there's no bigger piece of trash out there than Larry Johnson.

I don't care who they sign, though.  I loved the shtein out of watching them kick the Steelers in the ass yesterday.

QuoteDeath of Drew Brees' mother ruled a suicide
Posted by Mike Florio on November 16, 2009 6:30 PM ET
In August, the mother of Saints quarterback Drew Brees died suddenly.

Making the tragic and untimely death of 59-year-old Mina Brees, an Austin, Texas lawyer, even more upsetting was that Drew Brees and his mother had been estranged for several years.

Now, reports have emerged that Mina Brees' death has been ruled a suicide.

Wow, I don't even remember hearing of her death. Maybe somewhere she and Brett Favre's dad are making hellagood little QB angels.
