oh no its Vicks ability as well. If youre all excited about that scamper around the left end... please

he is nowhere near elusive, balance is top-heavy and no acceleration...hes a waste of a down and drive

Sgt PSN

i was in favor of taking a flyer on him.  they did.  it hasn't worked out.  best of luck to him getting his life and career back on track, but it's time to move on.

reese125

I mean the timing of bringing him on the field was mind-boggling last night

MDS

he hasnt been awful. its been pretty much a big meh. mostly because of andy reid.

they arent gonna cut him loose, more likely just keep him in 5 or so wildcat formations a game just to say they did and feel like theyre smarter than everyone else--which is why they made this move in the first place.
Zero hour, Michael. It's the end of the line. I'm the firstborn. I'm sick of playing second fiddle. I'm always third in line for everything. I'm tired of finishing fourth. Being the fifth wheel. There are six things I'm mad about, and I'm taking over.

Does Vick have positive yards for the season yet?

The man. The myth. The legend.

MDS

the use him so infrequently and at such pointless, borderline inconsequential times in the game that his entire presence on the team is meaningless.

he hasnt cost them anything and hasnt done anything positive for them. i consider that a wash. now take mcnabb, who played like a retarded 3rd grader against oakland. or jason peters, who played like a mentally handicapped student against everyone. or andy reid, who should die.

actually Dilfer was really good on Sportscenter.  He said that Mcnabb cant play from Shotgun, and wormburns it everytime he's in shotty.

While I do admire Cowher's "run the ball down their farging throat you bunch of Hoydas" philosophy, it did take him a long time to win it all.

Three things can happen when you throw the ball, and two of them are bad.

yep.  and as much as i dispise reid, one could easily make a case by saying that his coaching career is almost an exact parallel of cowher's in terms of w/l record, playoff appearances, etc.  cowher got to the super bowl after 3 years and lost (reid in his 5th year) but pitt remained very consistant over the next 10 years before finally getting back to the sb and winning it all 10 years later just as the eagles have continued to come close but not win it all since getting to the super bowl in 04.

but, if given the choice, i'd still take a lifetime of cowher with uncertain results over 1 more year of reid with the certainty that they might get close, but not go all the way.

Agree with the It's Reid Not Vick camp. They keep running the Wildcat out of the spread...watch the Dolphins run it, everyone's a little tighter to the line, and getting better blocks. Vick was in for what, 4 plays last night? for 17 total yards....I don't know if everyone expected big plays out of him, but it was unrealistic for any of us to think so. 4.2 yards per play is a whole lot of MEH, but it's still positive yards...which is more than what this offense gets on an incompletion....which Andy Reid's play calling guarantees there will be plenty of.

perhaps you could explain sd's reasons for "disliking" it as well since you seem to be so in tune with other peoples minds

Using Vick guarantees a less likelihood of a good play than not using him at all

QuoteVick: A return to the Eagles would be "an everyday struggle"
Posted by Gregg Rosenthal on November 9, 2009 11:09 AM ET
On Sunday night, Tony Dungy mentioned Buffalo as a possible "dark horse" to retain the services of Michael Vick in 2010.  What's clear is that Vick is unlikely to stay in Philadelphia, and it sounds like that's just fine with him.

"It would be hard," Vick said of returning to the Eagles in a conversation with Bob Costas.  "It would be an everyday struggle. But I would have to take that time to hone my skills and get better. I'm excited about the opportunity I have moving forward whether it's with Philadelphia or another team."

Vick thinks he has more to offer than just being a Wildcat quarterback -- he only played two snaps Sunday night in Philadelphia's loss to Dallas.

"I won't be a Wildcat guy. I can't," Vick said, speaking about his future.  "It's a different style of play. It's almost like a hit-or-miss type of thing. My position is quarterback. That's what I was born to do."

Approached after the game by the Associated Press, Vick wisely didn't discuss his future.  It can only serve as a distraction right now.  But as we wrote last night, Vick's lack of explosiveness in the present is not going to help his chances of getting a job or Philadelphia's chances of getting decent trade offers.

Even Vick admits to having doubts about his ability.

"I would be lying if I said there wasn't some doubt there. I'm being realistic about the situation," Vick said.

Wasted roster spot.

Wasted plays.

Wastedcat offense.
