its not an argument its fact...westbrook is not the same player he was three years ago and like flex said doesnt have a whole lot left

and its not about how many carries shadyor westbrook has its the fact that they are essentially being used about the same amount....and this is because andy knows that westbrook cant carry the same load he did in the past...because again and this is the only point im making...westbrook is not the same (much less a top 3 back which is where all this got started)

this is true and i don't think anyone other than munson's dumbass would try and argue anything to the contrary.

your original post on this (the one t-hawk first quoted) made it seem like you were defeding reid's playcalling by not giving westy the ball more.  might not have been what you were getting at, but it kind of came across that way.  no worries though.  it makes sense now.

the eagles should still be running the ball about 20-25 times a game and westy should probably be seeing more passes thrown his way than he gets carries.  but reid still has to run the ball.  use mccoy, use weaver, use the wild cat.  just do something besides dropping back to pass 70% of the time because the 5 guys in front of mcnabb right now are not capable of protecting him that often.

what i was saying is that the reason westbrook isnt having the kind of year he normally has is not because of reid

thats said its two seperate issues that are mutually exclusive

reids playcalling sucks AND westbrook isnt the same player

i can take a phrase thats rarely heard...flip it....now its a daily word

Id so much rather have westbrook get the ball in the flat, than going in between tackles at this point. Id like to have mccoy in the flat/screens even more

Tomahawk

I can agree with that. I don't know if Westbrook is even top 15 anymore; let alone top 3. Regardless, the Eagles record when Westbrook gets at least 20 carries is 20-1 or something mindblowingly ridiculous like that. I'd like to see if that still holds true.

reese125

which means the eagles were up by 20+ pts because I can bet that record was not a result of reids plan to run the ball

but sure Id like to check it out too..why not

Tomahawk

Reid usually still doesn't call running plays when the Eagles have a lead

ice grillin you

unofficially...

birds are 12-5 when he has 20+ carries

of the 12 wins

6 were by eight points or less

3 were by 10-14 pts

and three were by the following pts 19 24 and 28

I stand corrected, but 12-5 is still a pretty impressive record.

Munson

I think the stat you were thinking of THawk was the balance stat...there is some stat out there about when Reid has a 50/50 balance on offense and the win/loss ratio is ridiculous. But of course Reid won't learn from that.

IGY, Westbrook has missed two games and Reid ran 12 times in another game....Not Westbrook, the team as a whole ran 12 times. Of course guys getting the rock 25 times a game in 2 (or 3) more games have better stats.

At the end of the year when the Eagles are in the playoffs, and those teams aren't, and Westbrook has as good/if not better stats...tell me who's doing more for their team to win. Hint: It's the team that's in the playoffs. I'll give you Johnson, but Rice, Slaton, and Forte doing it for a year =/= better.

perhaps you could explain sd's reasons for "disliking" it as well since you seem to be so in tune with other peoples minds

it's an impressive winning percentage, but a terrible record when you consider the fact that westbrook has played in a total of 103 games and has been the starter since 2004.....which is 73 games.  and out of 73 games started by westbrook, he only carried the ball 20+ times in 17 of them.  that's pathetic.  especially when the numbers tell you that you're going to win 71% of the time if you feed him 20+ times a game.

no he saves that for the end of the 1/2 when they should be passing to attempt to put more points on the board and then burns timeouts or the qb tries to use one they don't have.

what a finely tuned machine this farging team is.

all quality character fellas though.
