So if McNabb has a terrible first half, does Reid have a quick hook at half-time? Or will that take another week? A Monday night embarrassment will not go-down well. All the other issues aside in the OAK game, he played poorly - regressing to mid-season form of last year. How long will Reid put up with it?

jim rome had a pretty funny bit about sherm lewis yesterday too.  talking about how all the skins plays would have corresponding bingo numbers assigned to them.

it's 3rd and 12 and sherm lewis is standing on the sidelines spinning a giant bowl of bingo balls.  "coach we need a play!"  lewis "ok......g......17."

campbell then checks his wrist band "g 17?  that's a fullback dive.  coach, it's 3rd and 12!"

If the line is keeping McNabb clean and he isn't completing passes, Kolb goes in. If McNabb is getting killed and not completing passes, he stays out there for 50 attempts.

McNabb's bad performance last week was based on the fact that he was getting killed.  This wasn't your typical game that Donovan sucks in, sometimes he just blows.  Last week was due to the fact he was on his back or had hands in his face.  There are very few QBs that pressure doesn't affect.

there were plenty of oppotunities for mcnabb last week.  yes, he did get beat up pretty good as the o-line protected him like a torn condom but there were still plenty of throws that he simply missed....bad.  the plays where he did get protection and had time to plant his feet and throw, were still horribly inaccurate.

every year mcnabb has a game or 2 where he couldn't hit an iceberg if he was steering the titanic.  this looked like one of those games.  am i blaming it all on him?  hell no.  but i didn't see anything from him this week that made me think "damn, if the line could just block for him and give him a chance to throw, he'd be doing ok."  he sucked, the line sucked, reid sucked, the playcalling sucked, the extra blockers sucked, the pidgeon sucked and the grilled cheese sammich my g/f made for me during the game sucked.  farg off

There were also like seven dropped passes.  As far as bad games go for McNabb this wasn't as bad as they get.  I don't care if he has time or not on a few plays QBs that get battered tend to lose accuracy.  Not one of the strong points of his game anyway.

He was sacked more times against Oakland (6) than Drew Brees has been all season (4).
What the Eagle's O-line might look like:

Plus the Saints are smart enough to run the ball when they are averaging 4.8yds/carry versus 4.2yards/completion.
:boom
Three things can happen when you throw the ball, and two of them are bad.

I's also add that his inability to see the situation and influence more of his own game is part of the reason for blow-up games like last week. Why can't he create significant change for what seems so obvious during the game?

I care about as much about that game as the Eagles players cared about the Oakland game which is to say not a whole hell of a lot.

Until they fire Reid none of us should care.

Now I can safely say I could give a shtein about this game.  Between Einstein Reid and "G 5. BINGO!" calling the shots, snooze fest.

I dunno. A win might be a yawn, as it likely means nothing more than a bumbling forward to a mid-January (at best) exit. A loss, though, would be a bit of a watershed moment. Reid's teams normally come roaring back after an embarrassment. I'm not certain they can now do this.

For all the defensive/LB wailing, they did hold them to 13 points. No reason the offense shouldn't have won the game even with the porous line.

I think there is more in the balance for this game than might appear.

haynesworth is going to have a field day...or at the very least open all kinds of shtein up for other people....reid better have a better game plan this week that includes more than just 5-7 foot drops and winging the ball down the sideline to mack

So, first offensive play, do they try to throw it deep or wait until the second play to throw them off?
