I read an article yesterday about Miguel Cabrera showing up to the game the other day with a black eye and scratches on his face. No one would say what happened.

And like always, the story comes out...

Out partying with the White Sox until 6am, BAC 3x the limit, fights with wife

MDS

dont mess with them latina checks theyll farg you up am i right phreak
Zero hour, Michael. It's the end of the line. I'm the firstborn. I'm sick of playing second fiddle. I'm always third in line for everything. I'm tired of finishing fourth. Being the fifth wheel. There are six things I'm mad about, and I'm taking over.

Yeah I still live in the Detroit area for the time being until I move back to PA at the end of the year, and this story has only really surfaced last night after being buried for two days.  Gee, wonder why.  He actually lives in a pretty unassuming house (for a guy that makes 20 mil a year0 in Birmingham, which is about 2 miles up the road from where I live, and the Birmingham police concluded that it was a "mutual conflict" and that they didn't feel charges were necessary.

If the Tigers lose their one game playoff today I'm sure the department will "re-assess" their initial conclusion.

Rome, the Redwings cant sell out a game to save their lives, if you have center ice, take a look at how empty the Joe is.  They couldnt sell out playoff games last year.  The area around the Joe has been equated to 1984 Beirut, and the economy is about same as Beirut's

The Joe and the area around there (Cobo Center, Ren Cen where GM has its headquarters) isn't that bad.  My school was right down the street from there.  Actually, the downtown area has potential with Ford Field and Comerica plus Greektown (and its Casino) and the MGM Grand being a few "people mover" stops away.  Plus, Wayne State is a college in downtown/midtown Detroit that actually has a decent campus with a few museums and other attractions.

The problems occur once you start to distance yourself from the downtown area.  I regularly drove up and down Gratiot in Detroit and all you see is abandoned buildings, unkempt properties, etc.  Not the greatest of conditions.

The Wings are big here, probably the most popular team.  I think generally Detroit (and its suburbs, obviously) have good, solid sports fans, but they aren't as passionate as Philly fans so you don't see on the news a lot of really in-depth reports and/or commentary on the sports scene.

Thanks.

Wow...Ordonez tied it at 4.

Come on Twins.

This game reminds me of nothing in particular.

I did have some sensational Thai food for dinner, though.  Best peanut sauce I've ever had, in fact.
