That's right.  You make the pro bowl by drawing attention to yourself so the idiots will vote for you.  Woodchoppa!

In other opinions I hold, which you need to know...the Eagles have done nothing to warrant getting the week off.  Reid should have them in and working.

No silly, you make the Pro Bowl by tackling guys six yards beyond the line of scrimmage, then drawing attention to yourself.

So he made it through the door with no handle that says Push?

QuoteTrotter visits the Eagles again

Linebacker Jeremiah Trotter last played in the NFL nearly two years ago.  And, in less than a week, the Eagles have brought Trotter in for a look-see twice.

ESPN's Adam Schefter reports that the Eagles have again visited with Trotter, a day after beating the Chiefs, 34-14.

The Eagles presumably are looking for leadership on defense, given the departure of safety Brian Dawkins and the season-ending injury to Stewart Bradley, the middle linebacker entering camp.

It would be Trotter's third stint with the Eagles.  After four years in Philly, he jumped to the taterskins for two years.  Then he returned to the Eagles for three seasons, re-establishing himself as a key player during the 2004 Super Bowl run.

Though Philly is sitting fairly pretty at 2-1, those 48 points surrendered to the Saints in Week Two surely has caused a few sleepless nights in the eight days since the home-opening defeat.

Come on back, Trot

Farg it, bring everybody back. We need Rodney Peete, Vaughn Hebron, and Mike Golic!

Per Schefter, Trotter took a physical. As crazy as it sounds, I guess the Eagles are gonna sign him, at least if that physical is able to detect the presence of something resembling knees.

Maybe they should have just resigned Dawkins then...??

perhaps you could explain sd's reasons for "disliking" it as well since you seem to be so in tune with other peoples minds

After the bye, the Eagles have the Bucs, Raiders, and washington before they hit the meat of the schedule starting in Nov.

This may be good if it allows a few games for players to come back healthy, the O-line to gel and such. They always seem to play well in Dec anyway. Now if they can stay away from big injuries.

Speaking of big injuries, yikes - that USC RB that was bench pressing and his spotter dropped the barbell on his throat. That's some nasty shtein. But shtein for another thread I guess.

hbionic

I heard he did not have a spotter....but I have not followed up the last few hours.

hbionic

ok, I guess he was being spotted...but the guy must not have known what a spotter is supposed to do.

just found an update. I hope that kid somehow comes through it ok.

According to Shelley Smith of ESPN, Trojans senior running back and Dorsey High standout Stafon Johnson was rushed to the hospital after a weightlifting accident where the bar fell on his throat. Smith is reporting that Johnson was coughing blood and bleeding from the nose. Ben Malcolmson's USC Ripsit blog confirms that this accident occurred while he was bench pressing with a spotter when the bar slipped from his right hand. Johnson is undergoing throat surgery. Supposedly he was pressing 275 pounds when the accident occurred.
