QuoteIf The taterskins give up on JC, Donovan McNabb will be our next QB
I believe Jason Campbell is the answer and he will get an extension midway through the season. BUT, if I'm wrong and JC is not here next year, I believe Donovan McNabb will be our starting QB in 2010.

Obviously if Campbell is not resigned, we will be drafting a QB of the future in next years draft. The Eagles just signed Jeff Garcia due to the Broken Rib of McNabb. I don't see McNabb coming back from that injury and playing the QB position at a high level.

More than likely Kolb will start this week (to give Garcia a couple weeks to prepare) and Garcia will be the starter in either week 3 or maybe week 5 after their bye week.

Garcia did a great job in the Eagle's system a couple years ago, and has many years under his belt in the west coast offense. It is also well documented that Philly has been highly critical of McNabb in the past and didn't give him the contract extension he wanted.

Michael Vick was given a contract worth 1.5 million the first year and 5 or 6 million the second year. This tells me he is a two year project and will either be cut after the first year, or be the Eagle's starting QB the second year (you don't pay a back up QB 6 million dollars for one year)

Either way, I see either Garcia or Vick being the Eagle's starter next year. There will be no room for McNabb and the Eagles will either cut or trade him (he only will have 1 year left on his contract)

The taterskins, with their new rookie QB will look to add a solid vet. for a year or two while their rookie QB matures and learns the offense. Danny wont be able to resist the urge to go out and get high profile QB Donovan McNabb, who has spent his whole NFL career in the west coast offense.

QuoteI don't know, something tells me this won't happen. I think McNabb is done with football, period. You just don't break your ribs twice and continue to be a QB in this league at his age. Any age for that matter. I would be very surprised if McNabb didn't fully retire at the end of this season.

QuoteWon't happen. McNabb would want too much money for a guy his age that has been physically and psychologically beaten the way he has in his career. The taterskins have proved that they've at least learned one thing and that is to stay away from pricey aged vets

:-D

perhaps you could explain sd's reasons for "disliking" it as well since you seem to be so in tune with other peoples minds

Is that guy totally oblivious or totally funnier than all of us?

QuoteI just started reading the follow up to The Da Vinci Code. It takes place in Washington during January. The best part is that the taterskins and in the playoffs. It's great because it really captures the excitement of the whole town come taterskins playoff football.

Sadly I need a work of fiction to remind me of how that feels.

we do not need to start this again. my eyes can only take so much.
Zero hour, Michael. It's the end of the line. I'm the firstborn. I'm sick of playing second fiddle. I'm always third in line for everything. I'm tired of finishing fourth. Being the fifth wheel. There are six things I'm mad about, and I'm taking over.

They also probably lost their start guard, Randy Thomas for the year. Going into the season, after not drafting or adding any O-line depth, the big concern was an injury. All the sports radio down here has been saying, "one big injury to the o-line, and this team is done."

Hopefully it will be fun to watch. The team is god awful. Especially on offense.

So how's the Super Bowl talk on ES?

I'm going over to make myself feel better.

My money looks pretty safe this year. Igy will be a little less rich after this season.
