what dc stations don't you get in HD?

i was thinking of switching to FIOS too but I can't really find many advantages.  it's actually more expensive than what I pay, but I get a redonk deal somehow.  comcast basically puts me back on the promo every time i threaten to leave so i've been in the 70-75/month range for digital cable, internet and the hd package.  it all depends on what kind of rep you get on the phone.  if they're a hard ass, just keep calling until you get a cool one.

also, i'm pretty sure you'd still be able to check your comcast email from anywhere.

comcast didnt delete my email when i got rid of them the first time.  I'm not sure if they changed, but 2 years ago i got fed up with paying 68 bucks for internet, and they ended up letting me keep their email

im told fios will be in philly by the end of the year. which is when i will get it unless comcast jerks me off and tickles my butthole.
Zero hour, Michael. It's the end of the line. I'm the firstborn. I'm sick of playing second fiddle. I'm always third in line for everything. I'm tired of finishing fourth. Being the fifth wheel. There are six things I'm mad about, and I'm taking over.

i live in the bmore tv market but i still get the dc stations...however on comcast they arent in hd (just the bmore ones are since its my main market)....on fios both would be in hd

you mean even were i to drop comcast as a service their email would be free and id keep my address

yep, exactly, they make advertising revenue off their email, so why cut that money off.

Good luck with that.

I've been fighting that battle with them for two years. My only problem is that I can threaten all I want, but if I want to move I have to get AT&T or nothing else.

No Verizon here and I can't have any satellites because I face north.

I got them to give me internet at 19.99/month for a year and some free HBO but thats about it

Yeah, more and more they can just say "farg you" because you have only one other option for comparable service, and that company is a farg all to deal with as well.

i may just go to fios anyway

my comcast bill is $206 a month

fios regular price would be 175

fios special price for a year would be 130

if i try to finagle with comcast they arent going to go down to the 130 special price...the best they would do i imagine is match the 175

got Fios hooked up today, other than it taking 6 hours (including the dude's 1:15 hour lunch and 30 min afternoon break) I'm pretty happy.  so far the picture looks really good.  the menu is a total change from comcast and will take some getting used to.  i can't get over all the HD channels they have though.  basically every somewhat major cable channel has a HD channel and every premium has multiple HD channels.  it kills comcast in that category.
