Someday I'll get some sort of wingbat to admit that both sides are farged and no political position is right for every situation...

couldnt disagree more....im sure there might be one or two but i cant come up with a single liberal stance that gets trumped by the opposite conservative viewpoint

No shtein you can't come up with one, sherlock. You're exactly the type of person I'm talking about.

no one can is the point...but im willing to listen

you can take the extreme left of a specific issue and call those people nuts and ill agree...but you cant take an issue as a whole agree that the conservative side is better and end up being on the righteous side

It's important to point out that I'm not talking about politics here. I'm talking about conservative vs. liberal theory. Conservative financial viewpoints (in non-crisis situations) are absolutely valid. I'm not talking about the zombie-like political 'cut-taxes' mantra, I'm talking about balancing budgets and trimming spending to match what the government brings in while still providing services.

Traditional conservative arguments on individual freedoms (which were absolutely destroyed under Bush) are also valid.

All of this gets blurred in the world of religious/business controlled US politics where Republican presidents stomp all over individual freedom and Democratic congressmen stand up for Insurance companies, but Conservatives frequently have the upper hand in ideological arguments.

High level critique of Obama's shortcomings thus far.

QuoteIn the great sweep of history, this presidency has barely begun. The mistakes Obama has made are rookie mistakes that can be corrected. And the general tendency of his Administration — toward civility, as opposed to the ugliness we've seen in the past month — is the right one. But he can't allow his desire for civility to neuter the requirements of leadership. He has to lead, clearly and decisively, starting right now.

Sarah would call Trig -- who was born with Down syndrome -- 'my little Down's baby.' . . . and sometimes say, playing around, 'No, I don't want the retarded baby -- I want the other one,' and pick up Tripp.

please never mention that stupid farging c*nt's name in this thread again.

also - i got a call from my kid's school regarding obama's chat that is scheduled for tuesday.  evidently due to the "outrage" of some parents over the president daring to encourage students to stay in school, parents who refuse to have their children hear such a pinko liberal commie socialist message may elect to have their children go to the library instead during his chat.

no, i'm not kidding.

Diomedes

I listened to a segment on the news about that today.  Most of the south and middle america will keep their kids out of school.  I think civil war is inevitable and I welcome it.

Yeah, like speechless angry.  These are the same so called patriots who demanded we back Bush in Iraq, in torture, in unrivaled government expansion and spending, because he's our President and you have to support him.

This country is farged.

Oh wow. I really wish I hadn't read some of the quotes I just read. I don't remember the last time I was this dumbfounded. What the farg is wrong with people?

Insanity:
Quote"Thinking about my kids in school having to listen to that just really upsets me," suburban Colorado mother Shanneen Barron told CNN Denver affiliate KMGH. "I'm an American. They are Americans, and I don't feel that's OK. I feel very scared to be in this country with our leadership right now."

Sanity:
QuoteNonsense, the White House replied.

"The goal of the speech and the lesson plans is to challenge students to work hard, stay in school and dramatically reduce the dropout rate," an administration spokesman said. "This isn't a policy speech. It's a speech designed to encourage kids to stay in school."

White House officials noted that Obama's speech, which will be available for anyone to view on the Web on Monday, is not unprecedented. President George H.W. Bush delivered a nationally televised speech to students from a Washington D.C., school in the fall of 1991, encouraging them to say no to drugs and work hard.

In November 1988, President Ronald Reagan delivered more politically charged remarks that were made available to students nationwide. Among other things, Reagan called taxes "such a penalty on people that there's no incentive for them to prosper ... because they have to give so much to the government."

Charles Saylors, president of the national Parent Teacher Association, said the uproar over Obama's speech is "sad."

"The president of the United States, regardless of political affiliation, should be able to have a presentation and have a pep talk, if you will, to America's students," he told CNN.

I wonder the same thing. Although I'd rather see the morons get their own backwards country than see more millions die trying to prevent it.
