Quotehe was given a second chance without any questions asked

Huh. Seems to me that every right-leaning know-it-all have been asking questions for forty+ years.

rjs246

Did it cost him his job? Did he do any time? People are right to question it but his life was never seriously interrupted. So if you want to play mister literal word for word nitpick douche, feel free, but you know what I mean and you know that I'm right. Or you're just an idiot.

If Kennedy has served a couple years in jail then he would have deserved a second chance, just like Michael Vick. Brilliant.

So Ted Kennedy is dead huh

MDS

didnt he win reelection right after it? basically the entire thing was washed over and ignored. that bugs me. but yes, he did do a lot to make this country better. yet, he did a lot of bad things.

basically we need to remember the good and the bad, not michael jackson it and forget about the whole molestation/skin changing/creepy thing.
Zero hour, Michael. It's the end of the line. I'm the firstborn. I'm sick of playing second fiddle. I'm always third in line for everything. I'm tired of finishing fourth. Being the fifth wheel. There are six things I'm mad about, and I'm taking over.

Interesting to see what fills the Shia power vacuum.

As for Ted, what he did is at best no different than Jerome Brown, so why get bent?

Are you kiddin' me man?? Jerome died. He didn't leave his nephew in the car under water to drown, walking home to call his lawyer before trying to get help for his dead nephew, whose fingernails were peeled back off his fingers from trying to claw his way out of the car.

Ted Kennedy was a champion of the minorities and working class citizens. He must have been doing something right or he wouldn't have been allowed to serve for 40 years. But, he was a scumbag of a person.

people who stay faithful should have their farging heads examined.  the sooner people realize that monogamy is the single worst idea man has ever come up with, the sooner everyone goes out and starts getting laid more often.  thus, the world becomes a slightly safer, happier place to live.

I'm shore your lady friend feels the same, right?

Well it was 40 years ago and he has done one or two things since then. It doesn't excuse anything but it's remarkable that you appear unable to get over something that happened two decades before you were born and impacted your life not one bit.

it just amazes me that people pass over murder and a life of infidelity simply because he got a few halfway decent bills passed through congress. he wasnt what i would call a decent guy but he did accomplish a lot. so there.
Look. He was an elitist jackass. He was responsible for someone's death. He is the biggest icon to the nepotism of our government. But he also championed a number of laws that made this country far more fair and from a political standpoint appears to have always done what he thought was right and best for the country.

People may be guilty of overlooking his faults, but you seem just as guilty of overlooking his good qualities.

Oh and are you farging kidding with the 'life of infidelity' shtein? Who cares if people sleep around and cheat on each other. It's the exception when that doesn't happen. People who stay faithful should be commended but who gives a shtein? What does that have to do with anything?

If someone is going to go behind the back of a person they've sworn to be faithful too, and fool around with another for reasons non other than pure lust, I think it goes a long, long way towards determining what kind of character they have. Character goes a long, long way toward determining what kind of Senator one would be. Just as leaving someone to drown while you walk go home to call your lawyer, thinking not of the person you've left to die but only of yourself goes a long way toward determining what king of person you are.

People's Politician's personal lives, including their sexual decisions, hold no interest for me. I could not care less what a person does or who he does it with. Marriage is a silly and unnatural institution. It works for some people but for the vast majority it is a struggle just to make it work on basic levels.

Why are there so many divorces? Is it because so many people accidentally married the wrong person? Is it because only 50% of the couples in the country actually love or care about each other? No. It's because the societal rules around marriage are farging ludicrous and inconsistent with human nature. Judging someone by their ability to fight human nature by sleeping with (or even tolerating) the same person for 40-70 years is absurd.

she suredoes.  we have a pretty open relationship.  i'll admit though, that faithful wasn't the best word to use.  we're both extremely faithful and committed to each other but far from monogamous.  farging one person for the rest of your life is about as boring as it gets.
