I agree with Rome I can't wait to see the presser tomorrow.  This is probably one of the craziest things I can remember as an Eagles fan.  My phone has rang off the hook non-stop.

i'm happy with it, thoughts of Djack/Maclin/Mcnabb/Vick/curtis/mccoy in the game is boneriffic

I can picture a nice wildcat package with McNabb running the option and flipping it to Vick for a heave down the field.  If Vick can draw 8 men in the box when he's in the backfield then even with his wildly inaccurate arm I think he can at least use his cannon arm to throw it deep enough for DeSean or even Maclin to beat man coverage.

This is an overall low risk signing.  McNabb has absolutely nothing to worry about.  I'm sure the Eagles got him for the veteran minimum or maybe a little more so any cap hit would be insignificant if it doesn't work out this year or after this year.  Vick is in a complete "re-build my reputation" mode (or start to create a good reputation mode however you want to look at it), and I'm sure Dungy will monitor his progress for the most part and make sure he doesn't deviate and revert back to some self-destructive behavior.

I can't think of an inherent problem with this signing, but I'm sure the media will try to pick at something to try and undermine this potentially working out.

Zero hour, Michael. It's the end of the line. I'm the firstborn. I'm sick of playing second fiddle. I'm always third in line for everything. I'm tired of finishing fourth. Being the fifth wheel. There are six things I'm mad about, and I'm taking over.

i don't see anything bad about this.  he's not going to start and having a guy like him on  the field along side what they already have is scary.  and yeah if he sucks that bad, bye bye.  i don't see that happening though.  the PETA people hating the eagles is just the icing on the cake.

difference might be that the fact he signed with the gold standard Eagles-- Goodell might allow him to participate week 1

$1.6M this year
$5.2M option in season 2

Wow.  I can't imagine this being more than a one year stint then unless he just completely re-invents himself this season.

General_Failure

He better re-invent himself into a god damned TE.

Just had a conversation today about this as a possibility. The dude has paid his debt so as far as I'm concerned that's a non issue. The issue is that he sucks. Hard. He sucked before he went to jail and after 2 years in jail I can't imagine that he sucks less. I mean, his first few years he was a phenom and fun to watch and he was sick in college, but he isn't a successful QB, he can't complete a high % of passes and he isn't a spring chicken anymore. I don't see where he fits in frankly. Maybe he takes Booker's roster spot? I don't know. I just don't really get it.

This. I hate this move. With a big fat H.
