Hours after reports surfaced that Chargers rookie running back Curtis Brinkley was shot in Philadelphia while his car was stopped at an intersection, few details are available.

Even his team is in the dark; the Chargers issued a statement moments ago indicating that they, too, have very little information about the situation.

"The entire organization wishes Curtis a quick and full recovery," the release said.  "The team has learned no other details about the incident and will have no further comment while local authorities conduct their investigation."

Brinkley is the second Chargers rookie who has suffered injury in an off-field incident.  The team picked receiver Demetrius Byrd of LSU in round seven after he was involved in a car accident; he was expected to be a third-round pick but for the accident.

Zero hour, Michael. It's the end of the line. I'm the firstborn. I'm sick of playing second fiddle. I'm always third in line for everything. I'm tired of finishing fourth. Being the fifth wheel. There are six things I'm mad about, and I'm taking over.
