anyone watch lie to me?  i can't make up my mind about it.  on one hand, i do find it entertaining but even though it's not really a great show.  it's pretty simple and adequately written imo, but i guess that's par for the course with most shows these days.

my biggest beef with the show isn't anything with the concept, plot, writing or acting.  it's the effect it has on people who watch it.  a dude i work with has been watching this show since it started up and now he thinks he's some sort of expert at reading people and determining if they are lying.  every time i (or anyone else) have a conversation with the guy he questions every movement and facial expression i make.  constantly asking.....why'd you pause?  why'd you look up? why'd you look down? why'd you scratch your head?  i can only imagine that this douchebag is far from alone and that this show is spawing an entire generation of wannabe lie detectors.

I watch Presidential addresses.
Is rjs gonna have to choke a bitch?

Let them eat bootstraps.

Lost was very good lastnight. They're starting the buildup to the finale. I'm assuming Faraday is dead because in the preview Jack's going through his notebook. The writers alluded to a 'death' so I'm guessing he's it. I think Kate and Jack become Others.

Yeah, Lost was awesome last night. Best one of the year, and it's been a good year for the show.

I'm so far behind on this season. I think I've got 4 episodes in queue.

You'll like this one; it was well-constructed.

I watch the show and enjoy it, but the characters are mostly very flimsy and poorly-acted.  Tim Roth saves all, though.  It's awesome that they have Jennifer Beals playing his ex (have you seen "Four Rooms?").

But, I don't talk about TV when hanging out with people socially and haven't noticed the "effect it has on people."  It certainly hasn't made me give a shtein about microexpressions or anything.  But, it doesn't surprise me that the type of douchenozzles you hang out with would fancy themselves behavior experts.  Stupid San Diegans/marines/hippies.

Whatever happened to Law&Order? The originals with Paulie and Logan are classics and informative. The new aren't horrible, but not nearly as proceduraley correct. Unless you're talking Criminal Intent or SVU - those shows are absolute garbage, so much so they should be forced to change the title as not to sully the original Law & Order's good name. I hate Jeff Goldblum

I gave up on all of them.  Dennis Farina was kind of cool, but it all went downhill when Jerry Orbach died.  "CI" was pretty good with D'Onofrio, but it's nearly unwatchable with anyone else.

The current lead detectives on the original are ANTHONY ANDERSON and THE DUDE FROM "CLUELESS."  It doesn't get much worse than that.  Anderson's biggest acting win was managing to avoid ruining "The Departed."

Tomahawk

D'Onofrio must be Goren, correct? The ones with him are decent I guess, but seeing the ads for the new season with Jeff Goldblum ensures I won't be watching

PoopyfaceMcGee

Yeah, he was also the alien bug in Men in Black and "Pyle" in Full Metal Jacket.  Go check out those movies, kid.

Tomahawk

Holy shtein - I never realized he was Pyle in FMJ. Such a great movie and a lot of people could stand to learn the lesson of the contribution that can be made by blowing your brains out

Feva

What about Southland?  Anyone watching that?  I really like it.  It's a little too "convenient" at times, but it's a good show.

Regina King is good in it and still fine as hell... and if you've ever wondered what happened to C. Thomas Howell, you'll get your chance to find out.
"Now I'm completing up the other half of that triangle" - Emmitt Smith on joining Troy Aikman and Michael Irvin in the Hall of Fame

"If you have sex with a prostitute against her will, is that considered rape or shoplifting?" -- 2 Live Stews

Seabiscuit36

I'm watching it Feva, its pretty decent for NBC.

I missed the first episode and DVR'd the second, but I havent checked it out yet.

Harper's Island got moved to Saturday's. My girl is into that and almost hyperventilated on Thursday when she couldn't find it.
