They were great, they kept the team loose. I'm not saying they shouldn't have gone when they did, but when they and guys like Ike left, they lost a lot of their character that I think helped them win.

I shouldn't still be laughing at that a few years later... but I am anyway.

Quote'Skins Bring In Jeremy Bridges
Posted by Mike Florio on May 5, 2009, 8:08 p.m. EDT

The Washington taterskins have added another veteran player, signing offensive lineman Jeremy Bridges.

Bridges, a six-year veteran, spent the last three seasons with the Panthers.  He was charged with assault in December, the night before a key Monday night game against the Buccaneers.

He started 14 games in 2006 and ten in 2007 before becoming primarily a backup in 2008, starting only four games at right tackle when rookie Jeff Otah was injured.

Terms of the deal were not disclosed.

I'm now  afeared of washington

QuoteBefore his recent span of sobriety, Rayburn was heading down a dark path.

"I think it would have led me either to jail or to death," Rayburn said. "I don't think there was really any other option. . . . It all stemmed from playing football. My knee, my elbow, some spinal problems - if I was to bend down, I couldn't stand up. Immobility was really the only thing that could alleviate the pain - or medication, obviously. . . .

"They dull the pain, but they don't turn you into a zombie. They would give me energy to the point where I could function. If I didn't have them, I couldn't do anything except lay in bed and throw up and roll around and ache."

I want to say something clever about this but again come up short.

It's actually pretty sad, especially since he never even really had a career. Outside of drugs, what the hell are his options?

That brought up my thought, how did he get that crippled playing as a rotation guy for only a couple of years?

rjs246

Um, football is a farged up sport that chews up and spits out its players like no other. God bless it.
Is rjs gonna have to choke a bitch?

Let them eat bootstraps.
