sounds great in theory, but the first thing i thought of (which the article does mention) is the massive amount of bandwidth you would be sucking up through your ISP.   Streaming hi-def games for heavy game users is going to have ISP's going nuts I would think.... let alone adding on your normal internet activity and downloads.....

i would be curious to see what the graphics look like as well.  I think Comcast compresses the hell out of their hi-def TV already.  A game like Crysis is supposed to take a high end gaming computer to get the best out of the grahics, how the hell is Comcast going to match that?

i didnt even read the article, but its gonna be at least 10 years until the US has an infrastructure capable of that.

yeah--they might want to think about hitting up the hotel/resort market for that.

those places dish out mulitiple T-1's (24 voice/data lines) for bandwidth to accommodate guests. Hell, maybe even get rid of that corny nintendo thingy with the dusty paddle they have going on the rooms and break out some real games

mussa

yeah the whole bandwidth thing doesn't match.

Looks like they're getting close to the uncanny valley.

I've been reading about that game for a while.  It will be nice if it delivers returns of even half the hype.

stumbled across a store card from best buy yesterday that i must have had for at least 6 mo and completely forgot about.  so i took it into the store and still had about $70.00 on it so i picked mlb 2k9 for the xbox.

basic game play is relatively simple although the instruction booklet does not explain how to hit.  definitely need to use the tutorial if you want to learn.  it will probably take some practice learning all of the advanced controls though.  but the basic controls are easy enough that you can pop the game in and start playing right away.

graphics for the most part are excellent.  jimmy rollins doesn't look anything like jimmy rollins but ryan howard has a gigantic nose.  smooth movements for the most part.

the commentary is excellent.  they really spent a lot of time working on the commentary making sure that it sounded like a natural flowing conversation rather than just recording a few sentences and then dropping a players name in the middle of it.  by far, the best commentary on any sports game i've played.

if your connected to the internet, you will recieve roster and player updates throughout the season.  so if a player is traded, then i'm guessing that means that the trade will be updated on your game.  also, if a player is rated high in the game but goes on to have a terrible year, his attributes in the game will be adjusted accordingly.  and vice versa for lower rated players who have a breakout year.

another awesome thing about being connected is that the ticker scoreboard shows all updated scores of all games taking place that day.  so while i was playing last night i saw that the phils blew it and that the indians beat the living snot out of the yanks.  also saw nba and nhl scores as well.

not sure if those online features are new or if they've been around for other sports games as well because this is the first time i've been connected to the net with a video game console, but i thought that those online features were pretty bad ass.

You have the old school xbox, or the 360? What's your gamertag?

Feva, are you really surprised Sarge would choose that for his gamertag?
