"I know people are upset about Dawkins, but the Eagles have big plans for this offseason, judge the team that shows up to Lehigh, not what happened in the first days of free agency"

BIG PLANS!

on wip they said spadaro wrote a front page pe.com article degrading dawkins...is this true...did someone post this and i missed it...or has anyone read it?

I took a look over there for it, and instead came across another Spads article which I obviously had to stop reading once my eyes started bleeding.  :puke

the only reason to go to pe.com is cheerleader videos.
Pass.  Pass. Pass. PUNT.  No pro bowl WR's.  Pass. Pass. Pass. PUNT.  Retarded special teams.  Pass. Pass. Pass. PUNT.  "I've got to do a better job."  Pass. Pass. Pass. PUNT.  Running game shines for 3 plays. Pass. Pass. Pass. PUNT.  No adjustments anywhere.  Pass.  Pass. Pass. PUNT.  (repeat)

Does anyone here think that Demps is actually ready to take over the free safety position?  I know no one here made the decision but this seems to the reality we as a fan base are facing.  As constructed now, what kind of secondary will we be watching next season?

Are there any other veteran safeties the Eagles can bring in?

I understand Blaine Bishop is available.

Nope, he's not ready. The kicker in all of this is will be when they bring in another stop gap veteran safety until they find a better replacement. Mentioned before, but if they would have had a guy in place this pr mess could have been avoided.

Demps will be fine.

We know he can cover when hes not one on one on the best reciever in the nfl or hitting kurt warner three minutes after the play is over.

It will be interesting to see how he is in run support but he'll be fine.  he actually has talent.

SD_Eagle5

If they go into the season with Demps as the starter safety becomes the position they failed to address (07' PR 08' FB)

mpmcgraw

Nah.  RB will be though. Westy=cooked.

I don't think Demps will be a train wreck in the mold of the no PR in 2007 and no FB in 2008. But I think he is still green and could use another year of being the 3rd safety and returning kicks.

But they almost HAVE to go with him. Because if they pull a Bishop type acquisition with a veteran and let him play FS then it will only make Dawk leaving worse.

Stupid ass Eagles

rjs246

Why are we assuming that Demps can't play? I don't like Dawkins being let go either, but I see no reason to believe that Demps is incapable of playing in the NFL.
