Stacy Andrews to the Eagles

A league source tells PFT that tackle Stacy Andrews has agreed to terms with the Philadelphia Eagles.

Per the source, it's a multi-year deal averaging $7 million per season.

At this point, the structure of the contract isn't known as it relates to guaranteed money.  Andrews suffered a torn ACL late in the 2008 season, and it might have prompted the Eagles to defer any large payments until March 2010, after Andrews proves that he is 100 percent.

The deal hinges on Andrews passing a physical.

For the Eagles, it was important to address quickly the tackle position, since both starters from last season, Tra Thomas and Jon Runyan, are unrestricted free agents.

Zero hour, Michael. It's the end of the line. I'm the firstborn. I'm sick of playing second fiddle. I'm always third in line for everything. I'm tired of finishing fourth. Being the fifth wheel. There are six things I'm mad about, and I'm taking over.

You have a guy that is just coming off a major ACL and MCL tear on Jan of this year protecting McNabb

whats there to be excited about except the fact the Andrews brothers can hold hands on the line?

This does not thrill me--it makes me nervous until he proves otherwise

General_Failure

Well, shtein. I thought for sure there'd be one shorter tackle this year.

It's a good signing if healthy and as discussed, frees up their options for the draft.

youre not excited about the potential to get a dominant tackle?

dook is a stud still young and was just coming into his own as a premier tackle which as we all know is a monster need for the team...even if he never plays another game again it was worth the chance and is exciting

Add to that the potentially positive impact it could have on his whackjob brother Shawn and this could be a huge move. Still need to know what's going on at LT, but this is a good start.

Maybe he'll call his brother a bitch and make him into a man
