Well we can't have robots up there hosting news shows. Some are total vanilla and some speak their mind. Folks find someone that appeals to them and get subjected to their commercials.

News is not news from any direction these days. It's entertainment and it has nothing to do with Hollywood though being famous they do have a platform to speak their minds.

On that we can agree. I am not particularly an O'Reilly fan. He does, however, not make any allusions of being a news show. When I see someone like Wolf Blitzer or Olberman or Katie Couric or Brian Williams or Walter Cronkite oe David Brinkey, or Harry Reasoner and they purport to be NEWSPEOPLE instead of commentators I take umbrage to tghe alleged intellegencia and Hollywood elite decrying one of the few conservative voices in the media.

do you purposely post stuff that is the polar opposite of the truth...oriley farging calls his show the "no spin zone"...in fact all he does is say how fair his show is...youve definitely never seen it

and like most conservative voices in the media oriley is a hatemongering bully...theres nothing wrong with being a conservative and holding those views...laura ingraham is one of the respectable right wing voices...but usually they are despicable people like oriley - coulter - limbaugh - malkin ect....

If you want to find a liberal in the media you have to turn your dial to public access.  What passes for liberal on MSNBC is left leaning centrist stuff.

The conservatives are much better represented than the liberals--which only makes sense considering the current state of media ownership--but even they aren't well represented by the blowhards whose acts sell commercials.  They do a good job advancing the socially backwards anti-minority, anti-woman, anti-environment, anti-science proganda of the Republican party, but they make no real effort to advance truly conservative economic theory, states rights issues, etc.

O'Reilly's main problem as the lsft sees it is his demand that people being interviewed answer the questions he asks. He demands that from rightys and leftys. He truly does not allow pontifinating and raw campaigning on his show. He is a conservative, he admits that. He is open to intellegent relevant conversation. If a subject stays on topic and doesn't veer off into a campaign ad he is very courteous.

You really are insane. The only conservatives in the national tv media now that Beck (who I detest) is on Fox are on Fox. Maybe the country is actually conservative considering the ratings disparity between Fox and the others.

Suprisingly enough, there are people who think that way. They will never stop fighting. For thousands of years they've been fighting and they will be fighting long after we are gone, which is the exact reason why the United States should just stay the farg out of it.
