QB Eagles

Vikings/Falcons has huge playoff implications for a lot of teams... including the Eagles. Eagles/taterskins has a much lower playoff impact and isn't even supposed to be a competitive game. And actually the total population getting the Eagles game might still be higher... it's being shown in almost all of California, Texas, Pennsylvania, New York, Maryland, Virginia, and in Miami.

Feva

9-5 at 9-5 where both teams have the opportunity to clinch a playoff spot.  Features the Rookie of the Year, a Coach of the Year candidate and the best RB in the NFL.

vs.

8-5-1 at 7-7 where one team is hanging on by a thread to the last playoff spot against a team that's been pretty much dead in the water for half the season.  Features a player who was benched a month ago and some guy named Zorn.

Hell... I've been an Eagles fan for most of my life and I barely want to watch that shtein.

I never really get tired of watching the Eagles and taterskins. It'll be a great weekend for me if they win.
But.....Falcons vs Vikings should be a good game, a better game to watch than the former.

Rome

Nothing says "excitement!" like a Vikings/Falcons game.

And LOL at Feva.  Just come out and say you want to watch "your" Falcons.  SAY IT!

QB Eagles

A Baltimore win tonight would be huge. And not just for anti-Dallas reasons, but for anti-Patriots reasons as well.

Potential freak weather games this week:

Green Bay @ Chicago: 0-5 degrees, 16 mph wind, will feel like -10 or worse
Miami @ Kansas City: 7 degrees, 17 mph wind, will feel -10
Buffalo @ Denver: 21 degrees, 7 mph wind, will feel 12
Cincinatti @ Cleveland: 25 degrees, 26 mph wind, will feel 9 PLUS 60% snow
Arizona @ New England: 32, 18 mph wind, will feel 21 PLUS a wintry mix of snow and rain
NYJets @ Seattle: 32, 7 mph wind, will feel 25 PLUS 60% snow

A lot of other games will be chilly and somewhat windy (including the Eagles game) and Oakland could get some good rain.

QB Eagles

If Dallas and San Diego both win this week, what to we want to happen in the Falcons/Vikings game?

Falcons win:
Dallas is probably farged unless they beat the Eagles next week
Eagles must win out to make playoffs

Minnesota wins:
Dallas guaranteed in the playoffs
The Eagles get to play a Dallas team that cares much less than them next week
The Eagles could sneak in if they lose either week with some help from zesty teams

I'm kinda thinking we root for Atlanta in that scenario, and hope the Birds take care of business and farg Dallas out of the playoffs. Even though it technically gives the Eagles a better chance of making the playoffs if the Vikings win.

Tonight's Dallas game doesn't affect the Eagles if the Eagles win out.  It's the Tampa and Atlanta ones that do.  A Vikings win tomorrow is almost a MUST for the Eagles to get in...

Hey Easy, didn't you notice I was talking about a specific scenario? I'm saying if San Diego beats Tampa Bay, a Minnesota victory suddenly helps Dallas a lot more than it helps the Eagles. Assuming Dallas beats Baltimore, Dallas is locked into the playoffs* (but not locked into a seed) even if they lose to the Eagles as long as both Tampa Bay and Atlanta lose this week. Meanwhile, having both teams lose doesn't help the Eagles all that much more than if just Tampa Bay loses.

Obviously, if Tampa doesn't lose, we're rooting for Minnesota at 4pm without question.

*Technically the Bears could still farg them up, but I doubt it.

The Cowboys lose control of their own destiny. Atlanta and Tampa Bay are now in control of the NFC wildcard. An Eagles win combined with a loss of one of those teams this week sets up an epic Week 17 game at the Linc.

Also, New England's options are dwindling. Unless Baltimore loses at home to Jacksonville, they're going to need the eventual winner of the Week 17 NYJ-Mia game to lose to a weak opponent (KC or SEA) this week. Otherwise the cheaters are out of the playoffs.

QB Eagles

Believe it or not, Carolina didn't clinch a playoff berth until that Baltimore win.

BigEd76

yup because they would've been 7-5 in the conference if they lost out and would've had a worse conference record than Dallas, Tampa Bay and Atlanta if all four teams got to 11-5.  Now that Dallas can't get to 11 wins, Carolina is safe.

Looks like Arizona/New England is going to be played in a blizzard
