thats retarded.  it was still a good trade, they still got jackson and a first round draft pick.  there was no way for anyone to know the panthers would somehow be good as shtein this year.  i hate andy's normal draft strategy more than anyone but you can't fault him for this trade.

What makes it a bad trade is they could have taken Otah with #19 and still taken Jackson in the second.

That's ridiculous.  Then they wouldn't have Trevor Laws!

Regardless of if the Eagles make or miss the playoffs, Reid will likely be the coach next year. Does anyone honestly see Lurie pulling the plug?

As for Otah, even though he looks good...I was totally down with this trade when it happened. I did not want another OL drafted high.

Obviously they need it and Otah would have been a solid pick in hindsight, but I blame Reid for my distaste in drafting an OL because he always picks so damn many of them.

I don't get that.  Now they absolutley have to do it this year.  Were you hoping they got someone in the 5th round as a potential starting tackle in the future, then have a year to look at him?  It seems like the Eagles do that a lot too, with none too great of a success rate.

I wanted a receiver with the 1st pick. They ended up getting one, but obviously later. And CAR looked terrible on paper, so when the deal went down I was totally for it.

They don't have to go high. Technically they could have Herremans and/or Loco Andrews slide out. Herremans plays good at OT.

And I don't think Tra and Runyan are done just yet; the Eagles have only allowed 19 sacks this year.

Tra and Runyan are old men. If they can actually play next year, great, but watching the Seahawks and Rams go from solid offenses to laughing stocks in one year thanks to their OLs doesn't make me want to run those two into the ground.

Not to mention there seems to be a great deal of first round OL talent this.  Would have a problem if the Eagles take an OT high this year Phreak?

I don't think there's a person on this board who doesn't think that at least one of those 1st rounders is going to be spent on an OL... and this year, deservedly so.

Nah, this year Andy will shock us all by drafting a LB and a WR in the first round. Followed up by the announcement that he is bulimic. Who knew?

The BIGSTUD

Everyone is screaming for tackle, because of Runyan and Tra's age and contract situations, but I would much rather re-sign one or both and draft a center or LG. The interior has been absolutely brutal for much of the season. Especially with Andrews out.

I wouldn't be surprised if they took 2 lineman early, depending on what they get in free agency.

Jackson will be the center of this line next year and the year after. I'd rather a guard and move Andrews, or a tackle and leave him were he is. Runyan can't play forever.

Of course a lot depends on wether Andrews has his mind right.

I could see a DT for one of the picks, they're fairly interchangeable, depending on if the DL is quicker or the OL is fat enough. Definitely need a high motor though. McCoy had a VERY high motor.

Well Donny's the only one we've seen hurl in public on multiple occasions, but he and AR do seem to mirror each other.   watch where you  step around them.
