Zero hour, Michael. It's the end of the line. I'm the firstborn. I'm sick of playing second fiddle. I'm always third in line for everything. I'm tired of finishing fourth. Being the fifth wheel. There are six things I'm mad about, and I'm taking over.

The drawback to marital longevity is your wife always knows when you're really interested in her and when you're just trying to bury it.

Saw Flags of Our Fathers. Clint Eastwood is a great director, as good as or better than he is an actor, and thats saying something. Very well done and acted. Adam Beach and Ryan Phillipe both give very powerful preformances. I've always like Barry Pepper, especially in Saving Private Ryan. He seems like a regular guy and seems to almost not be acting, like it's just all natural to him.

4/5 stars.

Hancock: I went into this movie very cynical because I had read a lot of bad reviews. It wasn't great by any means, but it wasn't bad at all and it was significantly better than several comic book movies I've seen including both Hellboys. I actually thought Will Smith was really good, while the story didn't really match up to his performance... just like I Am Legend.

Get Smart: Also not as bad as advertised. A decent turn your brain off type movie. Not funny for the most part (although Alan Arkin had his moments), but tolerable throughout and Anne Hathaway is growing on me since I saw her nipples and heard about the anal etc.

The BIGSTUD

Out of that last on the previous page, In Bruges was a great movie. Really liked it, and IMO it deserves to win something. Very underrated and a real good sleeper movie.
Calling it right on the $ since day one.
Just pointing laughing, and living it up while watching the Miami Heat stink it up.

Rome

The marketing strategy for the DVD release of Hancock is totally different than the one they used for the theatrical release.  They initially marketed it as a comedy and now they're marketing it as a more serious drama/action film.

Very strange.

Agreed. Very strange. And I don't think I even knew that Charlize was in the movie until I saw her on screen despite the fact that she plays a major role and is on screen a ton. Anyway, definitely wasn't a comedy.

THX 1138: Lucas' sci-fi take on the themes of 1984. Consumerism, hyper-specialization, government mandated behavior, religious control of the government, etc etc. Far more subversive than I would have expected Lucas to be capable of, and sort of ironic since he is the brains behind the largest grossing movie franchise in history and sullied his reputation by creating three sticky-sweet, made-for-children 'prequels' that were nothing more than a merchandising money-grab. Apparently Lucas used to be a little counter-culturish and this flick was WAY better than I thought it would be.

Fido: Pleasantville with zombies. 1950s Cleaver-family themes, mixed with George Romero-like messages about the illusion of security and control to keep people calm. A little bit screwy but a unique twist on zombie movies.

Soylent Green: Was ever there a sweatier man than Charleton Heston? Typical Heston futurist paranoia goofiness. The chick he bones is pretty hot and constantly referred to as 'furniture', which I found entertaining.

Hell Boy 2 - it started weird, it ended weird, it just felt very unpolished. Visually it was great, but they could of done a better job with this one. 2/5

"Day the Earth Stood Still" nice remake.  I apprteciated it more after I left the theater and thought about my only criticism..the annoying kid.  The kid actually helps make the ending more believeable :)  Nice job..Reeves is very good.  A must for the Sci-Fi person ;)

I heard it was downright awful

If you didn't like the first one DON"T GO  I liked it much better than War of the Worlds which was a tremedous dissapointment in spit of the great special effects
