wanted - 1/5 - i thought it would be a cool special effects movie, but the horrible acting and shtein story made the visuals even bad.

The prosecution's star witnesses at the Miami trial were Flemmi, who is now in prison, and mob hit man John Martorano, who has admitted to 20 murders, served 12 years in prison and is now free.

I saw a feature on him on a show, maybe 48 hours, and it was amazing. He was talking about killing people, shooting them in the face and making the disappear like it was a routine thing.

"Shooter" -- had a few good action scenes but didn't have any "WOW" moments

"Fred Claus" -- it was OK but not as funny as I thought it was going to be

You thought Fred Claus would be funny? You should stop trusting your judgment immediately.

Iron Man: Awesome. I refused to believe that it would be any good despite the fact that everyone told me how good it was. It had two strikes against it in my mind. 1. My mom liked it. Fail. 2. Robert Downie Jr. belongs in Back to School and Less Than Zero, not in superhero movies. I was wrong. It was excellent from beginning to end. And Gweneth Paltrow's ass looked eat-with-a-spoon good.

The Day the Earth Stood Still: Very good, especially for a 1951 Sci-Fi film. Predictable 'message' at the end, but surprisingly good.

The Hudsucker Proxy: One of the few Coen brothers movies I hadn't seen. The dialog/banter was much better than the goofy story and the goofier characters, but it was also totally enjoyable... if you're a Coen brothers fan. Probably a little too corny for people who aren't used to their style of film-making. Definitely more like O' Brother than No Country.

Slumdog Millionaire.  Pretty good.

Fred Claus:

A+ for Elizabeth Banks looking hot.
D- for her not getting naked and hooking up with the semi-gay elf.
B- for Vince Vaughn.
C+ for Paul Giamatti.
C for Kevin Spacey.

2/5.  Ugh.

Zero hour, Michael. It's the end of the line. I'm the firstborn. I'm sick of playing second fiddle. I'm always third in line for everything. I'm tired of finishing fourth. Being the fifth wheel. There are six things I'm mad about, and I'm taking over.

What is it with people watching Fred Claus. Stop proving me right in my assumption that you're all idiots.

The Savages: Why do I keep doing this to myself? Please note the following rule of thumb: If Laura Linney OR Philip Seymour Hoffman are in a movie it will not be light-hearted or up lifting. If BOTH of them are in it, it will be downright depressing, but extremely well done. Great movie. Not a great movie-watching experience.
