As much as I think Manny's a complete icehole the thought of him batting between Grit & Choke gives me a stinger the size of a redwood.

That lineup would be a Murderer's Row.

Zero hour, Michael. It's the end of the line. I'm the firstborn. I'm sick of playing second fiddle. I'm always third in line for everything. I'm tired of finishing fourth. Being the fifth wheel. There are six things I'm mad about, and I'm taking over.

I'll always care about and follow my teams but honestly I don't care if they go 0-162 next season. They get at least a 5 year pass. Their championship is certainly softening the Eagles/PSU/Sixers/Flyers blow.

They get a pass for five years. The other Philly teams get a one-season pass, which is good since it looks like they'll need it.

Oh, I'll care.  I love the birds but have become so fed up with their FO and AR I just can't even begin to discuss a championship.  This ride we had with the  Phils in September and October was simply amazing and I loved every minute of it.  I want to savor this for as long as I can.  With mlb.com the past 6 years I have been able to watch and listen to every game.  Plus watching a couple of games at CBP last April with my wife and son was such a treat it made this season even better.  My son wants to go back so bad.  We are planning a trip in June and I'd love to hook up with some of you at a Phils game.  Mai Tai's and Macadamia Nuts on Don.

sam perlozzo joins phils coaching staff. --   http://philadelphia.phillies.mlb.com/news/article.jsp?ymd=20081113&content_id=3678453&vkey=news_phi&fext=.jsp&c_id=phi

PHILADELPHIA -- Moving quickly to fill one of two coaching vacancies, the Phillies announced the addition of Sam Perlozzo to the team's staff on Thursday.
Perlozzo hasn't been assigned a specific coaching position from among third-base coach or bench coach, where Steve Smith (dismissed) and Jimy Williams (declined to return), respectively, worked for the past two seasons.

Regardless, the former infielder will handle infield instruction. Perlozzo spent last season as Seattle's third-base coach after 12 years with Baltimore as a third-base coach (1996-2000), bench coach (2001-05) and manager (2005-07). Before landing with the Orioles, Perlozzo coached third for the Mariners (1993-95), the Reds (1990-92) and the Mets (1987-89).

"I've known Sammy for a long time and couldn't be happier to add someone with his experience to our coaching staff," manager Charlie Manuel said in a statement.

Perlozzo was a five-time fielding champion in nine Minor League seasons, as well as for the Yakult Swallows in Japan in 1980, the same season Manuel hit 48 home runs for the Kintetsu Buffaloes.

Perlozzo's role depends on who fills the other coaching vacancy. That could be someone else with managerial experience. Former big league skippers Jim Tracy, Grady Little and Terry Collins have emerged as candidates, according to a person familiar with the Phillies' thinking.

That hire adds at least another 3-4 regular season wins if Perlozzo coaches third base.

In other news, how bad do you have to suck to get fired from a World Series winning coaching staff?

Haha so awesome. I'm pretty sure every fan reacted the exact same way that night. Still awesome to watch. I don't think that will ever get old, watching that last pitch.

perhaps you could explain sd's reasons for "disliking" it as well since you seem to be so in tune with other peoples minds
