QuoteOn Sunday, Cris Carter chided former Lions CEO Matt Millen for not calling Carter to ask his opinion of receiver Charles Rogers or receiver Mike Williams, two of Millen's top-ten draft busts during his time in Detroit.  "Matt Millen – do a little undercover work," Carter said during ESPN's Sunday NFL Countdown.  "Williams and Charlie Rogers both worked out with me before the draft.  I could have told him, don't draft neither one of them.  [He] never asked me."

Robinson (Yahoo Sports) did a little research, and he concluded that, on this point, Carter is full of something other than the truth.

Carter had this to say to the South Florida Sun-Sentinel regarding Rogers:  "He's very similar – and I don't like to make a lot of comparisons – to Randy [Moss] in a sense, a big basketball player playing wide receiver.  He's the only receiver that's come out since Randy that you can make an honest comparison to.  He has a yearning to learn."

And here's what Carter told the St. Paul Pioneer Press about Williams:  "I think he's going to be a great player.  I think people will be surprised at the kind of person he is.  He's really a hard worker.  He takes his training very seriously and wants to be very good."

So why would we now not be surprised to learn that Millen actually did call Carter about both players?  Then again, Millen didn't need to.  Carter had made his position on both players publicly known.

Most good WR's are just crazy idiots.  You can't expect that to magically change when they retire from football.

I dunno about this one. Carter's not going to work out with guys and then tell the press that they farging suck. He might have been willing to say that in a private interview with a team CEO though.

Apparently his nickname is young hugg.
It is so bad it seems like it might be a joke, but it also seems like he put a lot of work into it, so...
He's just really bad.

QuoteWASHINGTON (AP) -- The Federal Communications Commission has sided with the National Football League in a long-running programming dispute with Comcast Corp.

The FCC says Comcast should carry the league's NFL Network on its popular digital cable package.

The commission ruled that Comcast discriminated against the NFL Network by agreeing to carry the channel only on a more expensive sports cable service. The NFL filed the complaint against Comcast in May.

The FCC ruling now goes before an administrative law judge, who could force Comcast to carry the NFL programming at a certain price.

Comcast has argued that consumers will have to pay more for programming many may not want if the company is forced to include the NFL Network in its regular digital cable package.

I'd do that. Or maybe they'd take a late round pick and LJ.

of course. a 3rd round pick for a TE who produced over 1000yds last season with the QBs they have?

this guy would immediately solve the red zone problems. he could be mcnabb's favorite target and unlike LJ he is very consistent, healthy, and runs after the catch.

and for those reasons alone the eagles would never trade for him.

And he'll end up in the division. Dallas and the Skins don't even need him, but they'd sure as farg take him if the Giants don't.

The man. The myth. The legend.

Rumor is the Chiefs want at least a second rounder, and the Giants haven't put enough on the table yet.

KANSAS CITY, Mo. -- Tony Gonzalez, the most productive tight end in NFL history, will be traded to a contender if the Kansas City Chiefs get the right price.

ESPN's Michael Smith first reported the fact Gonzalez was to be shopped early Saturday morning.

A league source confirmed to ESPN that Gonzalez went to Chiefs GM Carl Peterson and inquired about a trade to a contender earlier this week.

Gonzalez

Gonzalez, who holds the NFL tight end record for receptions, touchdown catches and yards receiving, is active in civic and charitable affairs and enjoys great popularity in Kansas City. He has always said he would like to end his career with the Chiefs, who drafted him in the first round out of California in 1997.

But the Chiefs (1-4) are rebuilding from the bottom up and not likely to contend for the Super Bowl any time soon. In spite of all his personal accomplishments, Gonzalez, 32, has never even won a postseason game.

He would like an opportunity to play in a Super Bowl and the rebuilding Chiefs would like to acquire extra draft picks.

The Buffalo Bills, Tampa Bay Buccaneers, Green Bay Packers, New York Giants, Philadelphia Eagles have been in contact with the Chiefs regarding Gonzalez.

The Giants traded tight end Jeremy Shockey to New Orleans last summer for Nos. 2 and 5 drafts pick in 2009. Shockey's replacement, Kevin Boss, has been a disappointment even though the defending Super Bowl champs are undefeated

farging get him.

Do it.

They have two #1's so they can waste a #2 or a #3.

Rome

They usually waste their number 2's anyway.  Might as well waste one on the best TE in history even if he is older than dirt.
