I hope he gets a photo of himself in the hurricane wearing one of them.

They're saying weeks before they get power back in Houston.  But I'm sure Texans stadium is the #1 priority.
Anyone but Reid.

perhaps you could explain sd's reasons for "disliking" it as well since you seem to be so in tune with other peoples minds

I'm cool, everyone.

I left on Thursday and came to San Antonio. It took me 6 hours to get here though. Everyone here was freaking out about the storm too; shtein flying off the shelves and panic. But it didn't even rain or get cloudy here.

I talked to some people in Houston and they said it was pretty bad. Obviously Galveston and the coastal areas got the high hard one. They are farged for awhile. And a lot of stupid people tried to ride it out.

One group of farging douchebags SPENT THE NIGHT ON A PIER in Galveston. Then called for help in the wee hours of the morning and were told "yeah, when we get to you we will". And they didn't get rescued until 11am. farging morons. Too bad they didn't get swept away.

My part of the city is out of power, water boiling advisories are up and curfews ongoing. I may return tomorrow, but it depends on power and what work wants us to do. I hope I can stay here in SA for a few more days. I have a flight out of Houston at 1500hrs on Monday to head to Dallas for the game. If I can manage to stay in SA I will change the flight and leave from here.

That's debatable. But hey, at least you're not dead.

The man. The myth. The legend.

Undoubtedly.  What's sad is no one needed to be in harm's way much less die from this but because they're stupid and arrogant they'll stick around and ride it out.

On the bright side, though, at least those dumb fargs won't be around anymore which sort of improves the global gene pool a little bit.

just looked it up...apparently three deaths so far from ike...probably less dead than youll have in north philly tonight

Yep, a lot of people in Galveston stayed from what I heard on TV. The latest report was that since relief has yet to arrive these people are wandering the streets like packs of animals and police are worried. What I dont get is yesterday when they showed the storms moving in they had people out on the street by the sea wall admiring tthe waves, posing for pictures and generally being stupid fargs. With the cops standing there watching.

I'd load 'em all up in a paddy wagon and move them out and deal with the repercussions later of forcibly moving them. Because when they need to be rescued and officers and rescue personnel die from getting their stupid asses out of harms way it is really angering.

Centerpoint Energy said 2.26M homes in the area have their service. 2M homes are without power. I am hoping I am one of the lucky 226K who has it because I don't feel like living without air and shtein. Although i don't even know if my apartment was spared...so it could be a moot point. "The good news sir is that your power was uniterrupted. The bad is your apartment has no roof."

We'll see tomorrow, I guess. I will make some calls to me friends and boss there and see how it is. Cell service was spotty today.

I hope they give us off for a few days. otherwise I will drive home tomorrow night and go to work Monday. Then hope that SW Air is flying from Hobby on Monday so I can make it up to see the game. That is muy importante!
