Dissolving Parliament occasionally can actually be a good thing and requires that law makers stay dilligent in their efforts. Our congress has an abyssmal approval rating. Imagine how much harder they'd have to work if their positions were potentially up for election at any time...

The option to call for congressional and senatorial elections, as well as introducing a more representative multi-party system (rather than a two-party, winner take all system) would be huge improvements to our country's system of democracy.

...which pretty much guarantees both have a negative zero chance of happening.

And, yes, negative zero is way worse than just zero.

I like the dissolve Parliament thing. I don't like the vote for the party and if they get the majority they pick a PM thing.

Some combination of the two systems would be ideal, but we are basically the only country that has a two party, winner take all democracy and it results in frequently lopsided representation of the population which leads to constant political backlashes. When one party controls the House, the Senate and the White House, they have latitude to do whatever that party wants to do... half of the voting population may not agree with it, but because of the winner take all format that half of the population is not proportionally represented and has little say in what the government does.

The system needs to be changed.

No one in a major party will make the correct decisions for the future of the country.

I don't care how "in the can" you are for one side of the aisle or a particular candidate.  I've been doing a lot of analysis recently, and none of it makes any sense for long-term prosperity.

Realized revenues cannot meet expected expenses.
Protectionism in trade will continue to do damage.
Programs designed to help people aren't and won't.

It's going to be a bloodbath for the economy if either of these guys gets what he wants.

The bloodbath is already underway.

You are probably right.  No matter who writes the check, we all pay.  We'll have to see if either of them can succeed at tightening the government's belt.

QuoteProtectionism in trade will continue to do damage.

How so?  Free trade is what is killing the blue collar workers now.

QuotePrograms designed to help people aren't and won't.

That's a whole lotta vague.

So, what's your plan?

Misstatements do not bother me so much, although this kind of pushes the edge.  What bothers me is when there is a "misstatement" that gets repeated 4 or 5 times, such as "She's got foreign policy experience because she is right next to Russia"
An ad hominem fallacy consists of asserting that someone's argument is wrong and/or he is wrong to argue at all purely because of something discreditable/not-authoritative about the person or those persons cited by him rather than addressing the soundness of the argument itself.

I'm trying to take an "enemy of my enemy is my friend" approach with you and leave you alone, but it's not working out.

I just thought I'd let you know.
