I can see why some of you think the criticism of this pick is just blind Obama love - let's take it from a different angle:

In what way is this choice of a VP candidate a better choice than any of the other options that were under consideration?

- There were governors/former governors with more experience
- There were legislators more qualified and knowledgeable about the issues surrounding this campaign
- There were corporate executives which had to manage more complex economic and political issues.

This is Palin's resume:
Journalism major from Idaho
Part-time sports caster
PTA
City Council of a city population < 9000
Part-time Mayor of said city
Governor of a state with the population of Baltimore.

That's it.  If there were more, you can be sure the McCain campaign would have brought it forward.  What in that list makes her more qualified than any of the other options?

Giuliani was castigated for having no qualifications other than being the mayor of a city that was attacked by terrorists.  He was the mayor (an executive) of a city with more than 10 times the population of Alaska, with a larger budget and more complex political system.  And Alaska wasn't attacked by terrorists.

Bottom line: this was a political stunt, nothing more.  Hopefully it will blow up in his face.

In all seriousness, your forgot MILF.

QuoteFOX said that this VP broad has foreign policy experience because Russia is next to Alaska. That's funny.

As a registered independent I will say this...the appointing for Sarah Palin was great for one reason. She's is scaring the crap out of BOTH sides.

Nixon had extensive experience and was a disaster as a president.  Again, experience means little.

Thats a little black and white don't you think?  I would say that experience can't hurt you, so having it certainly means something.

I said "little".  And Nixon was a clusterfarg as a chief executive.  Add to the fact that he was a baldfaced liar and a criminal to boot... that equals disaster to me.

So was LBJ, maybe even more so.
Anyone but Reid.

Gustav is the timely excuse Bush will use to avoid the Republican convention.  McCain and Palin must be grateful for their good luck, he was the last person they wanted to see or be seen with as they accept the nomination.

Here is the "Obama is a Muslim" story that will haunt the Republicans for the next 60 days.  It has all the markers:

- Sensationalistic
- Easy to refute
- Easy to attribute to conspiracy

Sarah Palin is not the mother?

Haunt the Republicans?

Um, what?

Today there are thousands if not millions of Americans who will not vote for Obama because they believe he is a Muslim.

As this story spreads, there will be thousands if not millions of Americans who will not vote for McCain/Palin because they believe she is a hypocrite and a liar.

It sounds like Obama has the canadian vote.

How many electoral votes is that?

All politicians are hypocrites and liars. You could say Obama is a hypocrite because he expects people to believe that he never heard his racist pastor utter any of his inflammatory rhetoric in the twenty years he attended the church. Then when the general public found out what kind of pastor the reverend White really was, Obama threw him under the bus. The same reverand who baptised his children.

You can bet from some of his wifes comments that she heard him utter his racist anti American garbage.

Or, Obama could be called a hypocrite because he accepted a campaign donation from known, admitted terrorist William Ayers, but then states that Ayers has no active part in Obama's campaign.

I guess if they say it enough times then it must be true....

Yeah, but see, none of that stuff is sticking because it doesn't have the scandal value of something like this.  When you interview someone in WV about who they are going to vote for, they don't say they don't like Obama's policies.  Or that he's too young.  They won't vote for him "because he is a musuhlum".
